Zernsdorf
Zernsdorf is a village in Dahme-Spreewald, Brandenburg, Germany. Since 2003 it has been part of the city of Königs Wusterhausen. The population is approximately 4,500. Geography Zernsdorf is situated south-east of Berlin, on the banks of three lakes. The largest of these is the Krüpelsee, which is fed by the Dahme; the other two are the Lankensee and the Ukleisee. The main part of Königs Wusterhausen lies about 5km to the west; the state capital, Potsdam, is about 40km to the north-west. Königs Wusterhausen
Königs Wusterhausen () is a town in the Dahme-Spreewald district of the state of Brandenburg in Germany a few kilometers outside Berlin. Geography Geographical location Königs Wusterhausen – or "KW" () as it is often called locally – lies on the Notte canal and the river Dahme southeast of Berlin. Much further away to the west lies the state capital Potsdam. The abbreviation "KW" is also a reminder of the Königs Wusterhausen radio transmitter as "KW" is also the abbreviation for "Kilowatt" and "Kurzwelle" (German: "Shortwave") Parts of town Königs Wusterhausen is the biggest town in the Dahme-Spreewald district. Dahme River
The Dahme is a river that flows through the Germany, German States of Germany, states of Brandenburg and Berlin. It is a left bank tributary of the Spree (river), River Spree and is approximately long. Course The source of the Dahme is near the eponymous town Dahme, Brandenburg, Dahme. The river flows north through the towns of Märkisch Buchholz and Prieros. At Märkisch Buchholz the river is joined by the Dahme Flood Relief Canal that diverts water from the upper reaches of the Spree (river), River Spree at Leibsch. At Prieros the Dahme is joined by two tributaries, the Storkower Gewässer on the right bank and the Teupitzer Gewässer on the left bank. Both of these tributaries comprise a chain of linked lakes. North of Prieros the Dahme flows through a number of lakes, including the Dolgenzee, Krüpelsee and Krimnicksee before reaching the city of Königs Wusterhausen. Dahme-Spreewald
Dahme-Spreewald ( dsb, Wokrejs Damna-Błota) is a district in Brandenburg, Germany. It is bounded by (from the east and clockwise) the districts of Oder-Spree, Spree-Neiße, Oberspreewald-Lausitz, Elbe-Elster and Teltow-Fläming, and by the city of Berlin. History The Spreewald region has always been a centre of Sorbian culture. In medieval times the cities of Lübben and Luckau had successively been capitals of the margravate of Lower Lusatia. From 1815 on Lower Lusatia was a part of Prussia. Throughout the 19th century the region remained an agriculturally used area, some urbanisation taking place in the very north (close to Berlin) only. When the state of Brandenburg was newly founded in 1990, the districts of Lübben, Luckau and Königs Wusterhausen had been established. In 1993 the three districts were merged.
