Zellerrain Pass
Zellerrain Pass (elevation 1,125 m, 3,691 ft) is a mountain pass in the Ybbstal Alps, located on border between Lower Austria and Styria, west of Mariazell. The pass road has a steep grade of up to 22 percent. The river Ybbs has its source at the pass. The Ybbstal Alps (german: Ybbstaler Alpen) are a mountain range of the Northern Limestone Alps and part of the Eastern Alps, located in Austria. They occupy an area along the borders of the states of Upper Austria, Lower Austria and Styria. Mariazell
Mariazell (Central Bavarian: ''Mariazöö'') is an Austrian city in the southeastern state of Styria. Well known for being a hub of winter sports and a pilgrimage destination, it is located north of Graz. It is picturesquely situated in the valley of the Salza, amid the north Styrian Alps. It is a site of pilgrimage for Catholics from Austria and neighboring countries. The object of veneration is an image of the Virgin Mary reputed to work miracles, carved in lime-tree wood. This was brought to the place in 1157, and is now enshrined in a chapel adorned with objects of silver and other costly materials. Ybbs
Ybbs () is a river in Lower Austria. Its drainage basin is . Its source is located on the Zellerrain Pass near Mariazell. In the beginning, the river is called , then onwards from the border between Lower Austria and Styria up to Lunz am See it is called . From there until its confluence to the Danube at Ybbs an der Donau, it is finally called Ybbs. The Ybbs has a strongly meandering course and flows for around from the South in a northward direction. Along the river there are many metal and lumber industry plants. This is a list of the highest paved roads in Europe. It includes roads that are over long and whose culminating point is at least above sea level. This height approximately corresponds to that of the highest settlements in Europe and to the tree line in several mountain ranges such as the Alps and the Pyrenees, where most of the highest roads are located. A mountain is an elevated portion of the Earth's crust, generally with steep sides that show significant exposed bedrock.
