Ze'ev Zrizi
Ze'ev Zrizi, he, זאב זריזי (born 1916 – August 3, 2011) was the second mayor of the Israeli city of Beersheba. Zrizi was a member of the city council since 1949, representing Mapam. In 1961 after political changes within the city, the city council appointed him to replace founding Mayor David Tuviyahu. In 1963, Zrizi was succeeded by Eliyahu Nawi, although he continued serving as Nawi's deputy in the ruling Mapai Mapai ( he, מַפָּא"י, an acronym for , ''Mifleget Poalei Eretz Yisrael'', lit. Beersheba
Beersheba or Beer Sheva, officially Be'er-Sheva ( he, בְּאֵר שֶׁבַע, ''Bəʾēr Ševaʿ'', ; ar, بئر السبع, Biʾr as-Sabʿ, Well of the Oath or Well of the Seven), is the largest city in the Negev desert of southern Israel. Often referred to as the "Capital of the Negev", it is the centre of the fourth-most populous metropolitan area in Israel, the eighth-most populous Israeli city with a population of , and the second-largest city in area (after Jerusalem), with a total area of 117,500 dunams. Eliyahu Nawi
Eliyahu Nawi (; June 22, 1920 – November 16, 2012) was a judge, lawyer, poet, politician, Bible investigator, and mayor of Beersheba. Biography Eliyahu Nawi was born in Basra, Iraq. He immigrated to Jerusalem with his family at the age of six. He served in the Israel Defense Forces and attained the rank of major in the intelligence services. In 1947, Nawi moved to Beersheba as a liaison man between the British Mandate authorities and the Arab population. He later became a judge in the Beersheba magistrates' court. In 1983, the Public Council for Falasha Jews elected Nawi as its honorary president. Political career Prior to the 1963 municipal elections in Beersheba, the leadership of Mapai chose Nawi to head the party's electoral list in Beersheba. Nawi was chosen both for his formal education and his Iraqi descent, important in light of ethnic tensions in the city at the time. David Tuviyahu
David Tuviyahu (; 1898–1975) was an Israeli politician and trade unionist who served as the first mayor of the city of Beersheba after the establishment of the State of Israel. Biography Tuviyahu was born in 1898 in Galicia, then part of the Austro-Hungarian empire. He immigrated to Mandatory Palestine in 1920, during the chiefly Eastern European Third Aliyah. There he worked in construction in the north of the country, including on the road between Afula and Nazareth, and was a member of Kibbutz Geva in the Jezreel Valley for seven years. At various times, Tuviyahu worked as a foreman and as a manager for Solel Boneh, a construction company owned by the Histadrut trade union. By 1931 he was working on the construction site of the Palestine Electric Corporation's Naharayim power plant. Wyszków (; yi, ווישקאָוו ''Vishkov'') is a town in eastern Poland with 26,500 inhabitants (2018). It is the capital of Wyszków County in Masovian Voivodeship. History The village of Wyszków was first documented in 1203. It was granted town rights in 1502. It was administratively located in the Kamieniec County in the Masovian Voivodeship in the Greater Poland Province of the Kingdom of Poland. It was destroyed during the Swedish invasion of Poland ( Second Northern War) in 1655–1660, and it lost its significance in the region.
