Zdenka Badovinac
Zdenka Badovinac is a curator and writer, is the director of the Museum of Contemporary Art Zagreb, Croatia. She served between 1993 and 2021 as director of the Museum of Modern Art in Ljubljana, comprised since 2011 of two locations: the Museum of Modern Art and the Metelkova Museum of Contemporary Art in Metelkova, an autonomous art, culture, and social center in Ljubljana. Career Badovinac is mostly associated with her long tenure at the Museum of Modern Art in Ljubljana, which she directed from 1993 until 2020. Her vigorous curatorial leadership turned the museum into one of Europe's most relevant institutions, generating a dialogue linking the avant-garde traditions with contemporary practices, and promoting a new and complex geopolitical approach to Slovenian art. e-flux publications includes both the ''e-flux journal'' and ''e-flux journal reader series''. The monthly art publication ''e-flux journal'' features essays and contributions by contemporary artists and thinkers. The ''e-flux journal reader series'' was initiated in 2009 as a joint imprint with Sternberg Press. History In 2009, e-flux began distributing the printed version of the journal as a PDF-to-print edition designed by Adam Florin that can be found at bookshops and art spaces around the world through a network of distributors. "The Internationale" (french: "L'Internationale", italic=no, ) is an international anthem used by various communist and socialist groups; currently, it serves as the official anthem of the Communist Party of China. It has been a standard of the socialist movement since the late nineteenth century, when the Second International adopted it as its official anthem. The title arises from the "First International", an alliance of workers which held a congress in 1864. The author of the anthem's lyrics, Eugène Pottier, an anarchist, attended this congress. Exit Art
Exit Art was a non-profit cultural center that ran from 1982 to 2012 that exhibited contemporary visual art, installation, video, theater, and performance in New York City, United States. In its last location in Hell's Kitchen, Manhattan, it was a two-story gallery. Jeanette Ingberman and Papo Colo founded Exit Art as an alternative exhibition space. Beginning with its first show, “Illegal America,” and continuing through to 2012, the gallery focused on representing the underdog, dedicating shows to the exploration of ideas and people outside the political, social, sexual, and aesthetic mainstreams. Throughout its history, Exit Art was located in various places. The first location, in 1982, was on West Broadway, in SoHo. In 2002, the gallery moved to its last location in Hell's Kitchen. The Museum of Contemporary Art ( hr, Muzej suvremene umjetnosti, often abbreviated to MSU) is a contemporary art museum located on Dubrovnik Avenue in Zagreb, Croatia. It is the biggest and most modern museum in the country. History The museum traces its origins from the ''City Gallery of Contemporary Art'' which was established in 1954. The gallery was located at the Kulmer Palace in the Upper Town area and also housed the ''Center for Photography, Film and Television'' and a museum library. Due to lack of space the original museum never had a permanent display. Georg Paul Thomann (March 13, 1945 – July 21, 2005) was purported to be a renowned Austrian conceptual artist of the late 20th century. In reality, he was the fictitious creation of the Austrian art group monochrom who started working on his biography in the summer of 2000. São Paulo Art Biennial The art group monochrom was chosen to represent the Republic of Austria at the São Paulo Art Biennial, São Paulo (Brazil) in 2002. However, the political climate in Austria, where-in the center-right People's Party had recently formed a coalition with Jörg Haider's radical-right Austrian Freedom Party, gave the left-wing art group concerns about acting as representatives of their nation.
