Hamilton ( mi, Kirikiriroa) is an inland city in the North Island of New Zealand. Located on the banks of the Waikato River, it is the seat and most populous city of the Waikato region. 94.8ZM Whangarei (originally known as 93ZM) is a hit music radio station in Whangarei, New Zealand. It is a station of the ZM network, and is owned and operated by New Zealand Media and Entertainment. History ZM was first started in the Northland town of Whangarei in 1995 by Radio New Zealand broadcasting on 93.1 MHz as 93ZM. At the time local ZM stations were operating in Wellington as 91ZM Wellington and Christchurch as 91ZM Christchurch. ZM Christchurch (previously 3ZM, Radio Nova, ZMFM and 91ZM) is a hit music radio station in Christchurch, New Zealand. It is a station of the ZM network, and is owned and operated by New Zealand Media and Entertainment. Radio Hauraki
Radio Hauraki is a New Zealand rock music station that started in 1966. It was the first private commercial radio station of the modern broadcasting era in New Zealand and operated illegally until 1970 to break the monopoly held by the state-owned New Zealand Broadcasting Corporation. From its founding until 2012 Hauraki played a mix of classic and mainstream rock music. In 2013, it changed its music content, playing modern rock and alternative rock from the last 25–30 years. Mix was a greatest hits radio station in New Zealand, broadcasting music from the 70s, 80s and 90s. Mix was owned and operated by New Zealand Media and Entertainment. Mix is targeted at 35 to 54-year-olds. Its head office and studios were located in central Auckland, alongside New Zealand Media and Entertainment's seven other radio networks. Easy listening (including mood music) is a popular music genre and radio format that was most popular during the 1950s to 1970s. It is related to middle-of-the-road (MOR) music and encompasses instrumental recordings of standards, hit songs, non-rock vocals and instrumental covers of selected popular rock songs. It mostly concentrates on music that pre-dates the rock and roll era, characteristically on music from the 1940s and 1950s. Radio Windy was a local radio station in Wellington, New Zealand, Wellington, New Zealand. Radio Windy first started by ''Capital City Radio Limited'' broadcasting in Wellington in 1973 on 1080 kHz with the call sign 2XW. In 1976 the station moved to 890 kHz and in 1978, after the AM band spacing in New Zealand was adjusted from Channel spacing, 10 kHz to 9 kHz, the station moved to 891 kHz. 91FM (originally known as Magic 91FM) was a local radio station in Auckland. 91FM began broadcasting on 91.0 FM using the call sign 1MJK in 1983 and was one of the first FM stations to start in Auckland and New Zealand, along with 89 Stereo FM. 91FM played Hit Music format similar to that of ZM and in the early nineties actually used the same "Rock of the Nineties" slogan used by 91ZM in Christchurch and ZMFM in Wellington.
