Uetliberg
__NOTOC__ The Uetliberg (also known as Üetliberg) is a mountain in the Swiss plateau, part of the Albis chain, rising to . The mountain offers a panoramic view of the entire city of Zürich (to the northeast of its summit) and the Lake of Zurich (to the east), and lies on the boundary between the city of Zürich and the municipalities of Stallikon and Uitikon. The summit, known as Uto Kulm, is in Stallikon. At the summit, there is the Hotel Uto Kulm, together with two towers. Wallisellen is a municipality in the district of Bülach in the canton of Zürich in Switzerland, and belongs to the Glatt Valley (German: ''Glattal''). History The first settlement at Wallisellen dates from 58 BC. The municipality Wallisellen has its origin between 400 and 700 BC, after the Germanic migration of the peoples. Uitikon is a village and municipality in the district of Dietikon in the canton of Zürich in Switzerland. Besides the village of Uitikon itself, the municipality includes the villages of Waldegg and Ringlikon. Geography Uitikon lies on the northern end of the Albis hills that include the Uetliberg mountain and form the western boundary of the city of Zürich. The Uetliberg itself lies some to the south-east, but its north-western flanks lie within the municipal boundary. Stallikon
Stallikon is a municipality in the district of Affoltern in the canton of Zürich in Switzerland. History Stallikon is first mentioned in 1124 as ''Stallinchoven''. The site of Baldern Castle lies within the municipal boundaries, on the Albis ridge. Only earthworks remain, but early chronicles suggest that the castle was built by Ludwig the German, the first king of East Francia, in 853AD, and the castle is known to have been owned by the Counts of Lenzburg in the 12th century. Schlieren (Zürich German ''Schlierä'') is a municipality in the district of Dietikon in the canton of Zürich in Switzerland. History The oldest artifact discovered in the Canton of Zürich is a Stone Age Neanderthal hand axe which was found in Schlieren, and dates back to approximately 100,000 BCE. Until 1415, Schlieren belonged to Habsburg. After the conquest of Aargau by the Swiss Confederates it was a component of the county of Baden. In 1803 Schlieren was assigned to the Canton of Zürich. In 1777 the minister Heinrich Keller created here the first "deaf-mute school" in Switzerland.
