Uetliberg
__NOTOC__ The Uetliberg (also known as Üetliberg) is a mountain in the Swiss plateau, part of the Albis chain, rising to . The mountain offers a panoramic view of the entire city of Zürich (to the northeast of its summit) and the Lake of Zurich (to the east), and lies on the boundary between the city of Zürich and the municipalities of Stallikon and Uitikon. The summit, known as Uto Kulm, is in Stallikon. At the summit, there is the Hotel Uto Kulm, together with two towers. One of these is a look-out tower (access costs , rebuilt 1990), whilst the other is the Uetliberg TV-tower (186 m, rebuilt 1990). The summit is easily accessible by train from Zürich. Uetliberg Railway Line
The Uetliberg railway line (german: Uetlibergbahn) is a passenger railway line which runs from the central station in the Swiss city of Zürich () through the city's western outskirts to the summit of the Uetliberg. The route serves as line S10 of the Zürich S-Bahn, with the Zürcher Verkehrsverbund's (ZVV's) standards zonal fares applying. The line was opened in 1875 and electrified in 1923. In 1990 it was extended to its current terminus at Zürich HB SZU, beneath Zürich Hauptbahnhof. Today it is owned by the Sihltal Zürich Uetliberg Bahn, a company that also owns the Sihltal line, and operates other transport services. Uetliberg Railway Station
Uetliberg is a railway station in Switzerland, situated near to the summit of the Uetliberg mountain. The station is the terminus of the Uetliberg railway line, Uetliberg line, which is operated by the Sihltal Zürich Uetliberg Bahn (SZU). It is located within the municipality of Stallikon, although the adjacent mountain-top is divided between Stallikon and the city of Zürich. The Sihltal railway line (german: Sihltalbahn) is a railway line in the Swiss canton of Zürich, which connects the city of Zürich with the communities of the Sihl Valley. Felsenegg (el. ) is a vantage point in the canton of Zürich in Switzerland. Geography Felsenegg is located some to the southwest of the city of Zürich on the Albis chain, between the municipalities of Stallikon and Adliswil. The hilltop station of Luftseilbahn Adliswil-Felsenegg (LAF for short or commonly called ''Felseneggbahn'') aerial tramway is situated on Felsenegg. Albis
The Albis is a chain of hills in the Canton of Zürich, Switzerland, stretching for some 19 km from Sihlbrugg in the south to Waldegg near Zürich in the north. The chain forms, among others, the border between the Affoltern and Horgen districts. The best known point is Uetliberg at 870 m, overlooking the city of Zürich. Uitikon
Uitikon is a village and municipality in the district of Dietikon in the canton of Zürich in Switzerland. Besides the village of Uitikon itself, the municipality includes the villages of Waldegg and Ringlikon. Geography Uitikon lies on the northern end of the Albis hills that include the Uetliberg mountain and form the western boundary of the city of Zürich. The Uetliberg itself lies some to the south-east, but its north-western flanks lie within the municipal boundary. Adliswil-Felsenegg Cable Car
The Adliswil-Felsenegg cable car (LAF; german: Luftseilbahn Adliswil-Felsenegg or ) is a cable car in the canton of Zürich in Switzerland. The lower station is located in Adliswil in the Sihl Valley, whilst the upper station is located on the Felsenegg hill on the Albis ridge near the Felsenegg-Girstel TV-tower. Stallikon
Stallikon is a municipality in the district of Affoltern in the canton of Zürich in Switzerland. History Stallikon is first mentioned in 1124 as ''Stallinchoven''. The site of Baldern Castle lies within the municipal boundaries, on the Albis ridge. Only earthworks remain, but early chronicles suggest that the castle was built by Ludwig the German, the first king of East Francia, in 853AD, and the castle is known to have been owned by the Counts of Lenzburg in the 12th century.
