This WTA Tour event is classified as an International tournament and is played on outdoor clay courts. Tímea Babos is the doubles record holder with three wins. María Alejandra Vento-Kabchi (born 24 May 1974) is a former female tennis player from Venezuela. In July 2004, she reached her career-high singles ranking of world No. 26. She won four WTA titles in doubles. Vento-Kabchi reached the fourth round of the US Open in 2005, where she was heavily defeated by the eventual champion, Kim Clijsters. Barbara Rittner (born 25 April 1973) is a German former professional tennis player. She currently is the captain of the German Fed Cup team. The Portugal Open (formerly named Estoril Open) was an ATP and WTA clay court tennis tournament in Portugal.
