Leipzig–Altenburg Airport ; (known as ''Altenburg–Nobitz Airport'' until February 2008) is a German regional airport in Nobitz, southeast of Altenburg and south of Leipzig in the state of Thuringia. Erfurt–Weimar Airport
Erfurt–Weimar Airport (german: Flughafen Erfurt–Weimar, formerly ''Erfurt Airport'', ) serves Erfurt, the capital of the German state of Thuringia, and the nearby city of Weimar, both of which form the largest part of the state's central metropolitan area. The airport is west of Erfurt city center and is mainly used for seasonal charter flights to European leisure destinations. History The first Erfurt airport was built in the mid-1920s at Roter Berg in the north of the city, later also known as Erfurt-North. At the beginning of the Second World War in 1939, this site was taken over by the Luftwaffe, thus ending passenger traffic. Hof–Plauen Airport (german: Flughafen Hof–Plauen) is a regional airport serving Hof, a city in the German state of Bavaria. The airport is located southwest of Hof. Facilities The airport resides at an elevation of above mean sea level. It has one runway designated 08/26 with an asphalt surface measuring . Airlines and destinations There are currently no scheduled services to and from Hof–Plauen Airport. The last route was operated by Cirrus Airlines on behalf of Lufthansa to Frankfurt Airport and ceased in January 2012. Since then, there were only charter and business flights.
