Zone 76, Qatar
Zone 76 is a zone of the municipality of Al Khor in the state of Qatar. The main district recorded in the 2015 population census was Al Ghuwariyah. Other districts which fall within its administrative boundaries are Abu Al Qararis, Rawdat Al Faras, and Umm Al Maa. Demographics As of the 2010 census, the zone comprised 315 housing units and 173 establishments. There were 4,834 people living in the zone, of which 80% were male and 20% were female. Out of the 4,834 inhabitants, 93% were 20 years of age or older and 7% were under the age of 20. Municipalities Of Qatar
Since 2015, Qatar has been divided into eight municipalities. In 2004, a new municipality, Al Daayen, was created under Resolution No. 13, formed from parts of Umm Salal and Al Khawr; at the same time, Al Ghuwariyah was merged with Al Khawr; Al Jumaliyah was merged with Ar Rayyan; Jarayan al Batnah was split between Al Rayyan and Al Wakrah; and Mesaieed was merged with Al Wakrah. Al Khor
Al Khor ( ar, الخور; also spelled ''Al Khawr''), officially Al Khor and Al Thakhira, is a municipality in coastal northeastern Qatar. Al Khor City, the municipal seat, is located in the northeast coast of Qatar, around from the capital, Doha and it is considered to be one of the major cities in Qatar. Al Thakhira is the second largest settlement in the municipality after Al Khor City. The region was ruled by the Al Muhannadi tribe, which consists of seven Bedouin families, before Qatar gained its independence in 1971. Zones Of Qatar
In the administrative divisions of Qatar, zones are the second-highest level of government after municipalities of Qatar, municipalities. As of the 2015 census, there were 98 zones. However, several of these zones are not currently in use. Over the years, numerous changes in zones have taken place. Qatar
Qatar (, ; ar, قطر, Qaṭar ; local vernacular pronunciation: ), officially the State of Qatar,) is a country in Western Asia. Al Ghuwariyah
Al Ghuwariyah ( ar, الغويرية; also spelled Leghwairiya) is a town located in Al Khor Municipality in the state Qatar. Al Ghuwariyah was once a municipality of Qatar until it was merged with Al Khor Municipality, which is in the east, in 2004. It has been mostly populated by the Al-Naimi tribe of Qatar since the early 1920s. Etymology Two suggestions have been put forth for the origin of Al Ghuwariyah's name. The first is that it is derived from 'alghar', the Arabic term for the laurel family of plants. This is considered unlikely as this family of plants is not found in Qatar. Abu Al Qararis
Abu Al Qararis ( ar, ابا القراريص, Abā al Qarārīş; also spelled Abu Al Gararees and Abu Al Qararees) is a village in Qatar located in the municipality of Al Khor. It is located next to the village of Umm Qarn. Etymology "Abu" in Arabic means "father", being used in this context as a prefix for a prominent feature. Rawdat Al Faras
Rawdat Al Faras ( ar, روضة الفرس) is a village in Qatar located in the municipality of Al Khor. It is best known for its research station. Etymology In Arabic, "rawda" is a term used to denote a depression rich in vegetation due to water and sediment run-off. The second part of the name, "faras", translates to mare, and was given because a wild mare was once found in the village. Umm Al Maa
Umm Al Maa ( ar, ام الماء, ‘Umm al-Mā’) is an archaeological site in northwest Qatar located in the municipality of Al Khor, near the border with Al Shamal. It is most notable for its ancient cemetery, which is thought to date to the Bronze Age. Etymology The word "umm" is Arabic for "mother", and is a commonly used prefix used to signify geographic features.
