Municipalities Of Qatar
Since 2015, Qatar has been divided into eight municipalities. In 2004, a new municipality, Al Daayen, was created under Resolution No. 13, formed from parts of Umm Salal and Al Khawr; at the same time, Al Ghuwariyah was merged with Al Khawr; Al Jumaliyah was merged with Ar Rayyan; Jarayan al Batnah was split between Al Rayyan and Al Wakrah; and Mesaieed was merged with Al Wakrah. Al Rayyan
Al Rayyan (; also spelled as ''Ar Rayyan'') is the third-largest municipality in the state of Qatar. Its primary settlement is the city of the same name, which occupies the entire eastern section and largely surrounds Metropolitan Doha and functions as a suburb. Zones Of Qatar
In the administrative divisions of Qatar, zones are the second-highest level of government after municipalities of Qatar, municipalities. As of the 2015 census, there were 98 zones. However, several of these zones are not currently in use. Over the years, numerous changes in zones have taken place. For instance, in the 2010 census, Zone 69 was transferred to Al Daayen Municipality, Zones 50 and 58 were added to Ad-Dawhah (municipality), Ad-Dawhah Municipality, and part of Zone 74 was merged with Zone 70 of Al Daayen Municipality. Al-Rayyan ( ar, الريان) is a city in the municipality of its namesake, Al Rayyan, Qatar. The city and its suburbs comprise the largest population center in Qatar outside of Doha proper, immediately to its east. Al Wajbah
Al Wajbah ( ar, الوجبة) is a district in Qatar, located in the municipality of Al Rayyan. It is 10 miles west of the capital Doha. The village was the site of the Battle of Al Wajbah, a conflict that took place between the Ottomans and the Qatari tribes in 1893. It was blockaded by the Ottomans in March 1893. The main encounter took place later that month in the village's fort, Al Wajbah Fort. Etymology "Wajbah" is the local pronunciation of the Arabic word "waqb", which means "hole". Muaither ( ar, معيذر) is a district of Al Rayyan City in Qatar, located in the municipality of Al Rayyan. Etymology Referencing the area's geography, 'muaither' is derived from the Arabic 'mathar', meaning "place where animals are kept". Muaither is situated in a rawda (depression), meaning that water runoff accumulates in it, leading to increased plant activity. Various perennials such as the samr tree and fennel grow here. As such, the area serves as a good grazing area for Bedouins rearing their livestock.
