Ethan Zohn
Ethan Zohn (born November 12, 1973) is an American motivational speaker, former professional soccer player, and reality television series contestant who won '' Survivor: Africa'', the third season of the reality TV series '' Survivor''. He went on to compete in '' Survivor: All-Stars'' and '' Survivor: Winners at War'', where he placed 11th and 18th, respectively. After winning ''Survivor: Africa'', Zohn co-founded Grassroot Soccer, which uses soccer to raise money and awareness to fight HIV/AIDS. In 2010, he ranked 14th in USL Second Division's Top 15 of the Decade list as one of the most influential players of the United Soccer League Second Division in the previous decade. Shachne Zohn
Rabbi Sholom Shachne Zohn (1910–2012) former dean of the Yeshiva Torah Vodaas, who later lived in Jerusalem, Israel. Biography Shachne was born near Medzhybizh. When he was a young child, he moved with his family to the United States. When he was 13 years of age he began to receive religious training in the Mordechai Rosenblatt Talmud Torah while also attending public school on the East Side of Manhattan. His father was very busy with his cap business, and so he entrusted Rabbi Yaakov Yosef Herman with the religious upbringing of young Shachna. Rabbi Herman eventually convinced the lad to study at the Yeshiva in New Haven, Connecticut where a young Chaim Pinchas Scheinberg also studied at Rabbi Herman's behest. In his youth, he briefly studied Talmud in Yeshiva University and before traveling to Europe to study under Rabbi Boruch Ber Leibowitz in the Yeshiva in Kaminetz and then in Mir Yeshiva. Zohn Ahl
Zohn Ahl ("creek" "wood") is a roll-and-move board game played by the Kiowa Indians of North America. It is often cited as a typical representative of many similar Native American games. It is often equated (or possibly confounded) with Tsoñä ("awl game"), also played by the Kiowa.Bell 1960, pp 4–5. Parlett 1999, pp 38–40. Stewart Culin (1898, pp 687–88 and 731–33) (1907, pp 124–27) presents the 2 accounts of Zohn Ahl and Tsoñä together. The description of Zohn Ahl fails to distinguish the throws of the special 4th stick die; and the description of Tsoñä fails to mention how counters are won or lost; but both descriptions include ''both'' the special stick die and counters. Therefore, very possibly these texts refer to the same game, which can be reconstructed only by consulting both to fill in their respective holes. This is the perspective taken here. Alejandro Zohn
Alejandro Zohn (born Alexander Zohn; born 8 August 1930, in Vienna - 2000, in Guadalajara) was a Mexican architect. He was a Holocaust survivor who grew up in Western Mexico. Alejandro Zohn studied at the Universidad de Guadalajara, Mexico, graduating as an engineer in 1955 and as an architect in 1963. His abilities as an engineer are reflected in several bold and ingenious structures. Notable examples are the acoustic shell (1958) in Agua Azul Park, the Libertad Market (1959) and the 'Adolfo López Mateos' sports centre (1962), all in Guadalajara. The market is especially noteworthy for its roof of hyperbolic paraboloids, which allow for wide areas without supports. He also built residential blocks, paying careful attention to details of interior functionality, the durability and maintenance of materials and residents’ individuality.
