Zio Ziegler
Zio Ziegler (born 1988) is an American artist known best for his paintings and murals, many of which appear in the Mission District of San Francisco, as well as around the world such as Tokyo, Los Angeles, London, Italy, and more. His paintings have been featured both in the United States and internationally. Early life and education Ziegler was born February 18, 1988,. He studied art at Brown University and the Rhode Island School of Design, and graduated with a BFA in painting from RISD in 2010. Career Ziegler is known for both painting and murals, stating that his paintings are mainly inspired by Literature, French Modernism, and Architecture. His art features "repeated motifs of primitive patterns, gigantism, and distortion" and is improvisational rather than carefully planned. The Mission District (Spanish: ''Distrito de la Misión''), commonly known as The Mission (Spanish: ''La Misión''), is a neighborhood in San Francisco, California. One of the oldest neighborhoods in San Francisco, the Mission District's name is derived from Mission San Francisco de Asís, built in 1776 by the Spanish. The Marin Museum of Contemporary Art (MarinMOCA) was founded in 2007 and is located in Novato, California, United States. The museum includes several galleries, over fifty artist studios, a classroom wing for studio art classes, and a museum store.
