Zimbabwean Cricket Team In South Africa In 2018–19
The Zimbabwe cricket team toured South Africa in September and October 2018 to play three One Day Internationals (ODIs) and three Twenty20 International (T20I) matches. The ODI fixtures were part of South Africa's preparations for the 2019 Cricket World Cup. Dale Steyn, who last played an ODI in October 2016, was named in South Africa's ODI squad following a lengthy injury-enforced break. Steyn was selected to play in the second ODI of the series. Before the start of the tour, both Faf du Plessis and Hashim Amla were initially ruled out of South Africa's squads due to injury. JP Duminy was named captain in place of du Plessis, with Dean Elgar added to the ODI squad, replacing Amla. In the first ODI, Duminy captained South Africa for the first time in ODIs. Faf Du Plessis
Francois "Faf" du Plessis ( ; born 13 July 1984) is a South African professional cricketer and former captain of the South Africa national cricket team. He is considered one of the greatest fielders of all time and is among the best all-format batsmen of his era. He was named as the South African Cricketer of the Year in 2019. He is the captain of Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League. He is a right-handed batsman and part-time leg spin bowler. Hashim Amla
Hashim Mahomed Amla OIS (born 31 March 1983) is a South African former international cricketer who played for South Africa in all three formats of the game. Amla holds the record for being the fastest ever to score 2000, 3000, 4000, 5000, 6000 and 7000 ODI runs. He also became the fastest cricketer to reach 10 ODI centuries. Amla is an occasional off break bowler, and was South Africa's Test captain from June 2014 to January 2016. He is a right-handed batsman and holds the record for the highest individual Test score of any South African batsman of 311 not out, scored against England at The Oval, London in July 2012. Elton Chigumbura
Elton Chigumbura (born 14 March 1986) is a Zimbabwean former cricketer, who played for Zimbabwe national cricket team between 2004 and 2020. He was educated at Churchill School (Harare) and made his debut at the age of 18, amidst the rebel crisis and has played 14 Test matches. Chigumbura is the most capped player in the current ODI squad with more than 200 caps. In May 2015 Chigumbura made his maiden ODI century, against Pakistan in Lahore, in his 174th ODI match. Khaya Zondo (born 7 March 1990) is a South African cricketer. He made his international debut for the South Africa cricket team in February 2018. Tabraiz Shamsi (born 18 February 1990) is a South African cricketer. He has played first-class cricket for teams such as Dolphins, Gauteng, Gauteng Under-19s, KwaZulu Natal, KwaZulu-Natal Inland, Lions, and Titans. His batting style is right-handed and he is known for his left-arm unorthodox spin bowling. Andile Lucky Phehlukwayo (born 3 March 1996) is a South African professional cricketer. He is a left handed lower order batsman who bowls right-arm fast-medium. Lungisani True-man Ngidi (born 29 March 1996) is a South African professional cricketer who plays for the South Africa national cricket team. In the 2018 South African Cricket Annual Awards, he was named as one of the five Cricketers of the Year. Pieter Willem Adriaan Mulder (born 19 February 1998), known as Wiaan Mulder, is a South African first-class cricketer. He made his One Day International (ODI) debut for South Africa in October 2017 and his Test debut in March 2019. Reeza Raphael Hendricks (born 14 August 1989) is a South African cricketer who plays for Gauteng and for the South Africa national cricket team. He is a right-handed opening batsman.
