Zilveren Bal
The Zilveren Bal () was a football tournament featuring clubs from the Netherlands that was held annually in Rotterdam prior to each season from 1901 to 1956. The tournament was created in 1901 by Sparta Rotterdam, in the aftermath of their relegation from the top-flight. The trophy is a ball made up of silver, hence its name. The ''Zilveren Bal'' tournament was for many years the most important cup tournament in the Netherlands, even more important than the Holdert Cup (now known as KNVB Cup). The hosts Sparta never succeeded in lifting the silver ball, unlike the likes of HVV Den Haag, HBS Craeyenhout, and Feijenoord. With the entry of professional football in the Netherlands in 1954, the tournament lost its status and slowly disappeared. Koninklijke Beerschot Voetbalclub Antwerpen, or simply Beerschot, is a Belgian professional football club located in Antwerp, that competes in the second-tier First Division B after relegating from the top tier in the 2021–22 season. In 2013, KFCO Wilrijk decided to integrate the identity of Beerschot AC when they were relegated in the 2012–13 season, not only through their league position but also due to losing their professional licence through financial issues, being officially declared bankrupt on 21 May 2013 and folding shortly afterwards. VVV-Venlo (, ''VVV'' stands for ''Venlose Voetbal Vereniging'' meaning "Venlo Football Club") is a Dutch football club from Venlo, a city on the border with Germany. FC Blauw-Wit Amsterdam ( en, Blue-White) was a Dutch football club from Amsterdam. The name referred to the colours of their uniform, blue and white.
