Zhu Lin (actress)
Zhu Lin (born 1952) is a mainland Chinese film actress. In 1978, Zhu graduated from Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences. Then she passed the examination of Beijing Film Academy. Her most famous role is the Queen of the Women's Kingdom in 1986 TV-series Journey To The West. In 1987, Zhu Lin won the Golden Eagle Award for Best Leading Actress for ''Triumph In The Midnight''. She then became a popular leading actress in Chinese TV series. Zhu is the pinyin romanization of five Chinese surnames: 朱, 祝, 竺, 猪 and 諸. The most prominent of the five, Zhu ( 朱), is the 17th name in the ''Hundred Family Surnames'' poem and was the surname of the Ming dynasty emperors. The China TV Golden Eagle Award (), commonly known in China as the Golden Eagle Awards, is one of three main national award ceremonies recognising excellence in the Chinese television industry. The award is presented by the China Television Artists Association. It is considered to be one of the most prestigious television awards, alongside the Feitian Awards and Magnolia Awards. The Golden Eagle Awards are a biennial awards ceremony, held on alternate years with the Feitian Awards since 2005. Journey To The West (1986 TV Series)
''Journey to the West'' is a Chinese television series adapted from the classic 16th-century novel of the same title. The series was first broadcast on CCTV in China on 1 October 1986. The series became an instant classic in China and was praised for being one of the most original and faithful interpretations. Unadapted portions of the original story were later covered in the second season, which was released in 1999. CCTV released the entire series online on YouTube and in addition has an edited version (all episodes are 45 minutes long) with English subtitles, making a total of 40 episodes instead of the original 41.
