Zhao Gang (; born June 1968) is a Chinese executive and politician, currently serving as party secretary of Yan'an and governor of Shaanxi. He is a representative of the 20th National Congress of the Chinese Communist Party and a member of the 20th Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party. Biography Zhao was born in Xinmin County, Liaoning, in June 1968. In 1986, he entered Beijing Institute of Technology, where he majored in electronic precision machinery. He joined the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in June 1987. After graduating in April 1993, Zhao was despatched to Norinco, where he was promoted to vice president in April 2004 and to president in December 2007. He was assistant general manager in September 2010 and subsequently deputy general manager in September 2013. In September 2017, Zhao was made general manager and deputy party secretary of CFHI Group Corporation Limited, having held the position for only a year. Zhao (surname)
Zhao (; ) is a Chinese-language surname, means “walk quickly” and “jump” in ancient Chinese, and is the 1st surname in the famous Hundred Family Surnames – the traditional list of all Chinese surnames – because it was the emperor's surname of the Song Dynasty (960–1279) when the list was compiled. The first line of the poem is in the line 趙錢孫李 (Zhao, Qian, Sun, Li). Zhao is now ranking as the 7th most common surname in China and carried mainly by people of Mandarin-speaking regions.
