''Animism'' is a Canadian animated television series that airs on the Aboriginal Peoples Television Network's APTN Kids block. Animated for APTN by Zeroes 2 Heroes, the series mixes First Nations mythology with urban fantasy concepts. Development began in 2010. An alternate reality game titled ''Animism: The Sacred Sites'' debuted that year. The six-episode first season, ''Animism: The Gods' Lake'', aired in 2013. A second season, ''Animism: Titan Falls'', is in development. Background It began as a developing alternate reality game in summer 2010 titled ''Animism: The Gods' Lake'' to promote the upcoming TV series still in development for APTN. It had an active site by autumn 2010 where the project was retitled ''Animism: The Sacred Sites''. The ARG finally launched 1 January 2013 a few weeks before the show. The Aboriginal Peoples Television Network (APTN, stylized aptn) is a Canadian specialty channel. Established in 1992 and maintained by governmental funding to broadcast in Canada's northern territories, APTN acquired a national broadcast licence in 1999. Nick Mamatas ( el, Νίκος Μαμματάς) (born February 20, 1972) is an American horror, science fiction and fantasy author and editor for Haikasoru's line of translated Japanese science fiction novels for Viz Media. His fiction has been nominated for a number of awards, including several Bram Stoker Awards. John David Wolverton (May 28, 1957 – January 14, 2022), better known by his pen names Dave Wolverton and David Farland, was an American author, editor, and instructor of online writing workshops and groups.
