Zero Skateboards is a skateboard company located in Carlsbad, California, United States. The brand was founded by professional skateboarder and entrepreneur Jamie Thomas, and distributed by his Black Box Distribution company. In late June 2014, Thomas announced that the brand would be distributed by the Dwindle Distribution company, based in El Segundo, California. Subsequently, in 2016, Thomas and Dwindle announced that Zero Skateboards would be operated independently by Thomas. History The Zero brand was originally a clothing company, formed in 1996, and subsequently evolved into a skateboard company, with Thomas leaving Toy Machine to become Zero's first professional team rider. Jamie Thomas
Jamie Thomas (born October 11, 1974) is an American professional skateboarder and skateboard industry entrepreneur. Thomas is the owner and founder of Zero Skateboards and Fallen Footwear, until he announced its closure in January 2017. Thomas' nickname in the skateboard industry is "The Chief". Early life Thomas was born in Florida. He grew up in Dothan, Alabama, but also spent time as a child in Atlanta, Georgia and Palm Beach Gardens, Florida for his father's work as a nuclear engineer. Danny Way (born April 15, 1974) is an American professional skateboarder, company owner and rallycross driver who has been awarded ''Thrasher'' magazine's "Skater of the Year" award twice. He is known for extreme stunts, such as jumping into a skateboard ramp from a helicopter; that was featured on the cover of ''Transworld Skateboarding'' magazine. Elissa Steamer (born July 31, 1975) is an American professional skateboarder. Early life Steamer was born in Fort Myers, Florida, United States, and began skateboarding in 1989. Steamer frequented a small city owned skate park on Grand Avenue. John Rattray is a Scottish professional skateboarder. Early life Rattray was raised in Aberdeen and attained a university degree from the University of Glasgow. Professional skateboarding In 2001, Rattray initially turned professional for the British company Blueprint Skateboards and later signed with American company Zero Skateboards, prior to a relocation to the United States (US). Jim Greco (born December 25, 1977) is an American professional skateboarder. He established Bakerboys Distribution with Andrew Reynolds and Erik Ellington in 2007. Bakerboys Distribution provides distribution for closely related in-house skateboard companies. He co-founded Deathwish Skateboards in 2008, along with Erik Ellington. Early life Greco was born on 25 December 1977 in West Haven, Connecticut. He is of Italian descent, with roots in Naples. Erik Ellington (born August 9, 1977) is an American professional skateboarder, entrepreneur, and designer. Early life Erik Ellington was born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska, to Rose Ann Ellington and Charles Luther Ellington. His parents separated at an early age and he was raised collectively by his parents and step father Johnson Quarles. In his teens, he moved to Tempe, Arizona, after the passing of his father.
