Zero (Brazilian Band)
Zero (), stylized as ZERØ, is a Brazilian rock band formed in 1983 in São Paulo and based in Rio de Janeiro since 1998, widely considered to be major forerunners of the New Romantic movement in Brazil. History Early years and "Heróis" (1983–1985) Zero arose from the ashes of Ultimato (formerly known as Lux), an instrumental punk jazz/ no wave band formed in São Paulo in 1978 (and renamed as Ultimato in 1981) by Fabio Golfetti, Alberto "Beto" Birger, Cláudio Souza, Gilles Eduar and Nelson Coelho. Future vocalist Guilherme Isnard, who had recently left his former band Voluntários da Pátria, was introduced to Ultimato by his friend Luiz Antônio Ribas, owner of now-defunct independent record company Underground Discos e Artes; Isnard then decided to join the band, and approached its members to begin writing lyrics for their songs. Passos No Escuro
''Passos no Escuro'' (Portuguese for "''Footsteps in the Dark''") is an extended play by the Brazilian rock band Zero. It came out in 1985 by EMI. The EP was a massive commercial success, to the point of receiving a Gold Certification by Pro-Música Brasil, and spawned the hit singles "Formosa" and "Agora Eu Sei"; the latter counted with a guest appearance by RPM vocalist Paulo Ricardo on backing vocals. May East (also known as Maria Elisa Capparelli Pinheiro),PhD is a British/Brazilian urbanist, educator, singer and songwriter. Over the years she has alternated voices of advocacy with voices of inspiration and considered herself an artivist. Early musical career 1981 – 1992 East comes from a thriving artistic community stretching between São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. May East's art, be it in film, video, installation or music, expressed a deep concern for Brazil's environment both in the major cities and the country's vast interior, specially the rainforests of the Amazon. Heróis
"Heróis" (Portuguese for "''Heroes''") is a single by Brazilian rock band Zero, released in 1985 by CBS Records International. It is Zero's first official release overall, and their only one to feature the band's first ever line-up, which lasted from their foundation in 1983 until circa 1985 – guitarists Fabio Golfetti and Nelson Coelho, drummer Cláudio Souza, bassist Beto Birger and saxophonist Gilles Eduar (who had already left Zero prior to the single's recording) would all depart the band to form projects of their own shortly after the single's release, with the only exception of vocalist Guilherme Isnard, the only founding member of the band to remain in its many different line-ups. Fabio Golfetti
Fabio Golfetti (born April 10, 1960) is a Brazilian musician and record producer, famous for his work with progressive/ psychedelic rock band Violeta de Outono. He is also the guitarist of Franco-British rock band Gong since 2012. Biography Fabio Golfetti was born in São Paulo in 1960. He grew up listening to Pink Floyd, Gong, Led Zeppelin, The Beatles and The Rolling Stones (with their 1967 album ''Their Satanic Majesties Request'' being one of his favorite releases by them), and as a teenager he learned how to play both the classical and the electric guitar, quoting Daevid Allen, Syd Barrett, Terje Rypdal and Manuel Göttsching as some of his major influences. In 1978 he founded Lux, his first band. Punk Jazz
Punk jazz is a genre of music that combines elements of jazz, especially improvisation, with the instrumentation and performance style of punk rock.
