Overview The weekly talk show was broadcast from the Arabella-Grandhotel in Frankfurt am Main in the immediate vicinity of the name-giving Zeil with guests from politics and entertainment for the first time on 19 January 1990 with the presenter Beate Wedekind. Hessischer Rundfunk (HR; "Hesse Broadcasting") is the German state of Hesse's public broadcasting, public broadcasting corporation. Headquartered in Frankfurt, it is a member of the national consortium of German public broadcasting corporations, ARD (broadcaster), ARD. Zeil
The Zeil () is a street in the city centre of Frankfurt, Germany. The name, which dates back to the 14th century, is derived from the German word ''Zeile'' "row" and originally referred to a row of houses on the eastern end of the north side; the name was not extended to the entire street until later.''Archiv für Frankfurts Geschichte und Kunst'' 5, dritte Folge (1896), p. 350. Since the end of the 19th century it has been one of the most famous and busiest shopping streets in Germany. Alice Sophie Schwarzer (born 3 December 1942) is a German journalist and prominent feminist. She is founder and publisher of the German feminist journal '' EMMA''. Beginning in France, she became a forerunner of feminist positions against anti-abortion laws, for economic self-sufficiency for women, against pornography, prostitution, female genital mutilation, and for a fair position of women in Islam. She authored many books, including biographies of Romy Schneider, Marion Dönhoff and herself.
