Zdzisław Wolski
Zdzisław Wolski (born February 25, 1956, in Szczawno-Zdrój) is a doctor and politician, councilor of Częstochowa (1994–2019) and chairman of its city council (2011–2019), member of the 9th term Sejm of the Republic of Poland (2019–2023). Biography He graduated from the Medical University of Silesia. In 1987–1991 he was the head of the health and social care department at the Częstochowa city hall. He became a doctor at one of the clinics in Częstochowa, as well as the owner of a construction company. In 2002 he ran for Mayor of Częstochowa from the SLD-UP list, but he lost in the second round with Tadeusz Wrona, reaching 41.59% Associated with the Democratic Left Alliance, Wolski was a Częstochowa city councilor for many terms (1994–2019). The Sejm (English: , Polish: ), officially known as the Sejm of the Republic of Poland (Polish: ''Sejm Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej''), is the lower house of the bicameral parliament of Poland. The Sejm has been the highest governing body of the Third Polish Republic since the transition of government in 1989. Democratic Left Alliance (Poland)
The Democratic Left Alliance () was a social-democratic political party in Poland. It was formed on 9 July 1991 as an electoral alliance of centre-left parties, and became a single party on 15 April 1999. It was the major coalition party in Poland between 1993 and 1997, and between 2001 and 2005, with four Prime ministers coming from the party: Józef Oleksy, Włodzimierz Cimoszewicz, Leszek Miller and Marek Belka. It then faded into opposition, overshadowed by the rise of Civic Platform and Law and Justice. Szczawno-Zdrój (german: Bad Salzbrunn, until 1935 ''Ober Salzbrunn'') is a spa town in Wałbrzych County, Lower Silesian Voivodeship, in south-western Poland. Democratic Left Alliance-Labour Union (Polish: Sojusz Lewicy Demokratycznej-Unia Pracy, SLD-UP) was an electoral committee and a coalition of two Polish centre-left political parties: Democratic Left Alliance and Labour Union. Tadeusz Wrona (politician)
Tadeusz Stanisław Wrona (born 26 March 1951 in Szczecin) is a Polish politician, local official, President of Częstochowa (1990-1995 and 2002-2009), Member of the Polish Parliament (1997-2001). In 2010 counselor of Lech Kaczyński. Biography Wrona graduated from Henryk Sienkiewicz High School in Częstochowa and in 1974 from the Częstochowa Polytechnic. In 1982 he earned a doctorate in engineering, then worked in the Polytechnic until 1990 and again from 1996 to 1997. In 1980 he was co-founder of the Solidarity movement at the Polytechnic. From 18 June 1990 to 3 November 1995 he was mayor of Częstochowa and member of City Council (1990–1998). From 1997 to 2001 he was a member of the national Sejm.
