Zastava M57
The Zastava M57 pistol was the standard sidearm of the Yugoslav Army from 1957 to the country's collapse, produced by Zastava Arms. A licensed copy of the Soviet TT pistol, it is a single-action semi-automatic pistol chambered in 7.62×25mm Tokarev. Many surplus M57 handguns were imported for sale in other countries and subsequently modified to fit their import requirements, and have become frequent collector's items due to their low price and historical value. As of 2022, Zastava still produces modern reproductions of the M57 with updated safety features - the M57A in its original chambering and the M70A in 9mm Parabellum. Zastava PPZ
The Zastava PPZ is the latest generation of the CZ 99 series of handguns chambered in multiple calibers. History In 2007 Zastava started work on new generation of pistols based on CZ 99 series, under the working name "CZ M-07". The M-07 was a general redesign of the CZ 99/999 Pistol.The top of the slide was flattened, sides were slanted (similarly to those of H&K USP), bore axis was lowered by 4 mm, trigger mechanism as well as slide release and decocking mechanism were also redesigned, longer beaver tail was added and magazine capacity was increased from 15+1 to 17+1. In 2010 new prototype was unveiled on IWA Show in Nuremberg under the new working name "RASHOMON" The biggest difference was the new polymer frame featuring Interchangeable back strap and a full length MIL-STD-1913 rail. CZ 99
The Zastava CZ99 is a semi-automatic pistol produced by Zastava Arms. It was developed in 1989 to replace the M57 in the Yugoslav military and police. The frame design was influenced by the SIG P226 albeit with some ambidextrous controls like the Walther P88 Compact. The CZ 99 is primarily chambered in 9×19mm Parabellum with a 15-round magazine. Variants *CZ999 Scorpion (ЦЗ999): While initially intended for the 9×19mm, there is a variant of the CZ99 chambered in .40 S&W, primarily for foreign importers, with many of these handguns imported by the US in 1990. Zastava M88
The Zastava M88 is a semi-automatic pistol produced by Zastava Arms, it is a compact redesign of the Zastava M57 pistol. Features A simple handgun available in 9×19mm Parabellum and .40 S&W with non-adjustable sights and a single-action trigger, just like its older cousin, the TT-33. The M88 has a shorter 3.5 inch barrel and a different hammer position. A variant of the pistol called the M88A features an external safety on the slide and an internal firing pin block safety. Zastava M70 (pistol)
The Zastava M70, formerly designated CZ M70 (Crvena Zastava Model 1970) is semi-automatic pistol produced by Zastava Arms as a sidearm for Yugoslav police and certain military officers. The pistol was loosely based on the Zastava M57, but is scaled down to accept the smaller and less powerful 7,65mm Browning (.32 ACP) or 9mm Kratak (.380 ACP). Design details The M70 is a simple-blowback operated, single-action, pistol. This model differs most significantly from the locked-breech M57 by employing simple blowback, as this method is suitable for less powerful ammunition. Other differences from the parent M57 are found in the safety mechanisms, with both a manual safety lever and a magazine disconnect being present. The manual safety lever is located on the left side of the frame, above the grip panel, and flips forward to fire and back to engage the safety. The TT-30,, "7.62 mm Tokarev self-loading pistol model 1930", TT stands for Tula-Tokarev) commonly known simply as the Tokarev, is an out-of-production Soviet semi-automatic pistol. It was developed in 1930 by Fedor Tokarev as a service pistol for the Soviet military to replace the Nagant M1895 revolver that had been in use since the Russian Empire, though it ended up being used in conjunction with, rather than replacing, the M1895. It served until 1952, when it was replaced by the Makarov pistol. Development In 1930, the Revolutionary Military Council approved a resolution to test new small arms to replace its aging Nagant M1895 revolvers.
