The White Ship (story)
"The White Ship" is a horror short story by American writer H. P. Lovecraft. It was first published in ''The United Amateur'' (Volume 19) #2, November 1919, and later appeared in the March 1927 issue of ''Weird Tales''. Plot Basil Elton, a lighthouse keeper, engages in a peculiar fantasy in which a bearded man in robes is piloting a mystical white ship which appears when the moon is full. Elton walks across the water on a bridge of moonbeams, joins the bearded man on the ship, and together they explore a mystical chain of islands unlike anything that can be found on Earth. John Lawton (musician)
John Cooper Lawton (11 July 1946 – 29 June 2021) was a British rock and blues vocalist best known for his work with Lucifer's Friend, Uriah Heep and the Les Humphries Singers. Biography Lawton began his musical career in North Shields, England, in the early '60s with The Deans, a bunch of kids who decided at random that he should be singer. He then moved on to West One and later Stonewall which included John Miles, Vic Malcolm (later of Geordie) and Paul Thompson (later of Roxy Music). After Stonewall finished their stint at Top Ten Club in Hamburg in 1969, Lawton decided to stay in Germany, after having been offered the job as singer with legendary German rock cult band Lucifer's Friend (1969–1976 and 1979–1995) with whom he recorded seven studio albums. He also joined the Les Humphries Singers, in the early '70s (which included the Eurovision Song Contest in '76). In the cultures of the Horn of Africa and adjacent regions of the Middle East, ''Zār'' ( ar, زار, gez, ዛር) is the term for a demon or spirit assumed to possess individuals, mostly women, and to cause discomfort or illness. The so-called ''zār'' ritual or ''zār'' cult is the practice of exorcising such spirits from the possessed individual. ''Zār'' exorcism has become popular in the contemporary urban culture of Cairo and other major cities of the Islamic world as a form of women-only entertainment. Zarsanga or Zar Sanga ( ps, زرڅانگه)(born 1946 in Lakki Marwat) is a Pashto singer from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. She began her singing career singing for Radio Peshawar and some television programmes, and later went on to perform in Europe, the United States and the UAE. Her extensive career as a singer and performer has earned her the sobriquet "The Queen Of Pashtun Folklore" and the Pride of Performance Award. Personal life Zarsanga was born in 1946 in a small village of Bannu Lakki Marwat, North-West Frontier Province British India (now Pakistan). She was born into the nomadic tribe Kutanree (Kutan), who travel mostly between Pashto area from Punjab and Sindh covering the areas of Bannu Road from Dera Ismail Khan, Kohat and Peshawar. Zar Zari Zar Baksh
Zar Zari Zar Baksh, or Shah Muntajab ud din, was one of the earliest Sufis of the Chishti Order, the most dominant of all the Sufi orders in the Indian subcontinent. He was sent to the Deccan by Nizamuddin Auliya of Delhi in the beginning of the 8th century Hijri (14th century AD). With 700 disciples, Zar Zari Zar Baksh came to Aurangabad, and is said to have converted a Hindu princess near a well at Khuldabad. The place is now called the "''Sohan baoli''" or "pleasing well", and the princess is buried close to the saints grave in Khuldabad. The tomb of Zar Zari Zar Baksh is between Malik Ambar's tomb and the northern gate of the town. It contains a number of ornaments and relics, the most remarkable of which is a circular steel looking glass mounted on a steel pedestal of four feet in height. Mufti Zar Wali Khan (1953 – 7 December 2020), was a Pakistani Islamic scholar, writer and Friday sermon preacher. He was the founder and the principal of Jamia Ahsan Ul Uloom.
