Zamias Services, Inc. is a commercial real estate leasing and management company based in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. The company was created by shopping mall developer George D. Zamias and traces its history back to 1957. History George D. Zamias worked as a real estate agent for eight years prior to founding the George D. Zamias Real Estate Company in 1961, which began constructing shopping centers the following year. The company was reincorporated as the Zamias Construction Company, Inc. in 1967, and then reincorporated again as George D. Zamias Developer in 1968. Carolina Circle Mall was purchased out of foreclosure in September 1993 for $16 million from General Electric Capital. Beechmont Mall was purchased in 1997 for $24 million. Columbia Colonnade (formerly Columbia Mall) was a shopping mall located just outside Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania. York Galleria is an enclosed, indoor shopping mall located just northeast of York, Pennsylvania at the intersection of U.S. Route 30 and Pennsylvania Route 24. The anchor stores are Boscov's, Gold's Gym, H&M, Marshalls, and Hollywood Casino York. Northern Lights Shopping Center is a strip mall located in Economy, Pennsylvania near Pittsburgh. It was a major power center-style strip mall from its opening until the early 2000's. A Walmart opened on the adjacent lot to Northern Lights in 2014. Parts of the plaza were demolished in 2018. Diamond Run Mall was an enclosed shopping mall in Rutland, Vermont, United States. Opened in 1995, it was the second mall in the city after Rutland Mall. Despite initial success, the mall was hampered by financial issues through its developer and owner, Zamias Services, Inc. At its peak, the mall featured over 60 stores, with J. C. Penney, Sears, and Kmart as the anchor stores. The mall declined severely in tenancy throughout the Great Recession, and ultimately closed in October 2019.
