Zaman Town ( ur, زمان ٹاؤن ) is a neighbourhood in the Korangi District in eastern Karachi, Pakistan. It was previously part of Korangi Town Korangi Town ( sd, ڪورنگي ur, ) lies in the eastern part of the city that was named after the locality of Korangi. Korangi District
Korangi District ( ur, ) is one of the seven administrative districts of Karachi last modified in 2013, part of the Karachi Division in Sindh, Pakistan. Map of Karachi Division History The district was a part of District East in Karachi, which was divided in November 2013. The district is diverse include Baloch, Pashtun, Sindhi, Punjabi and other ethnicities. The district suffers from water crisis and contamination issues. A reverse osmosis plant was inaugurated in Union Council 35 of District Municipal Corporation (DMC) Korangi on 6 March 2017. Demographics At the time of the 2017 census, Korangi district had a population of 2,577,556, of which 1,347,161 were males and 1,229,899 females. The entire population was urban. Union Councils of Karachi are local governments in Karachi. Union Council is the primary governmental institution in Pakistan. Headed by a Union Nazim, each union council has 13 elected members or councilors. In addition to four male and two female members elected directly, there are two male and two female representatives of the labor, a minority member, a Union Nazim and his deputy known as Union Naib Nazim. Beside elected members, there are several government employees and functionaries in every union council, who report to the Secretary of the Union Council.
