Zalomka River
The Zalomka ( sr-cyrl, Заломка) is a karstic river in the southern part of Bosnia and Herzegovina and one of the largest sinking rivers in the country and the world. It collects its waters from Gatačko Polje. Geography The Zalomka River in its upper course runs through Gatačko Polje, and in a section from Rašćelice to Fojnica is called Đerope. After passing through shallow gorge the river enters Nevesinjsko Polje, where it is also called the Kolješka River. The Zalomka's major tributaries are the Batuša, Markov Creek, Novaci, Jamnik, Sopiljski Creek a.k.a. "Babova Jama" ''(Jama=pit)'', Zovidol River, Bukovik, Vučine. The Zalomka River basin, particularly as part of the Nevesinjsko Polje, is a tectonic depression that is bounded by mountain ranges of different heights and highlands. The Dinaric Alps (), also Dinarides, are a mountain range in Southern and Southcentral Europe, separating the continental Balkan Peninsula from the Adriatic Sea. Bilećko Lake
Bileća Lake ( sr, Билећко jезеро, Bilećko jezero) is an artificial lake located in the municipality of Bileća, in the entity of Republika Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina, its length forming part of the Montenegrin border thus a small part being within Montenegro. The manmade lake was created by building the Grančarevo Dam an arch dam across the Trebišnjica River, which was built in 1968. It lies in the upper and central part of Trebsinjica valley, 17 km from Trebinje town and is one of the largest lakes in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Bileća ( sr-cyrl, Билећа) is a town and municipality located in Republika Srpska, an entity of Bosnia and Herzegovina. As of 2013, the town has a population of 7,476 inhabitants, while the municipality has 10,807 inhabitants. History The first traces of civilization in Bileća date from the Neolithic period, although archaeological sites are insufficiently explored. During the Middle Ages, Bileća was located on the boundary of the župa of Vrm and the nearby Vlach necropolis was often mentioned as an important crossroad location for caravans on the way from Dubrovnik to Nikšić and Ključ, near Gacko. Ombla Catchment
The Ombla is a short river in Croatia, northeast of Dubrovnik. Its course is approximately long, and it empties into the Rijeka Dubrovačka, ria formed by the Adriatic Sea near Komolac in Dubrovnik-Neretva County. Rijeka Dubrovačka is actually a ria, a flooded river valley formed through changes in sea surface elevation on a geologic time scale. The river rises as a karst spring fed by groundwater replenished by Trebišnjica, which is an influent stream flowing in Popovo Polje, in the immediate hinterland of the Ombla.
