Zakir Majidov
Zakir Majidov ( az, Zakir Məcidov) (26 June 1956 – 6 August 1992), National Hero of Azerbaijan, was born June 26, 1956 in the Hasanabad village of the Neftchala Rayon of Azerbaijan. Education and professional service In 1974, Zakir entered the High Military Aviation School in the Sasovo city of the Ryazan Oblast of Russia. In 1977, he graduated from the same school and received the rank of lieutenant. In 1978, he worked as a mechanic at the Baku airline division. In 1979, he worked in the summer flights on the AN-2 plane at the Zabrat airline division. In 1980, he was appointed a commander of the AN-2 plane at the Zabrat airline division. The young lieutenant had worked in this company for seven years. In 1984, to increase qualifications, he passed the course of six months development for MI-2 helicopter at the Kremenchug Pilots School of Ukraine. Neftchala Rayon
Neftchala District ( az, Neftçala rayonu) is one of the 66 districts of Azerbaijan. It is located in the south-east of the country and belongs to the Shirvan-Salyan Economic Region. The district borders the districts of Jalilabad, Bilasuvar, Salyan, Lankaran, and Masally. Its capital and largest city is Neftchala. As of 2020, the district had a population of 88,900. History The Neftchala District was formed as a district in the composition of the Azerbaijan Soviet Socialist Republic on February 11, 1940. Until this time it was located in the area of modern Salyan District, and during that year it became part of the Khilly region, organized on January 24, 1939. Javanshir Rahimov
Javanshir Izzat oglu Rahimov ( az, Cavanşir İzzət oğlu Rəhimov ; June 5, 1973 – August 6, 1992) was an Azerbaijani soldier and the National Hero of Azerbaijan. Early years Rahimov was born in Qaşqaçay, Qakh. When he was one year old his family moved to Baku , Qaraçuxur. He finished secondary school No. 104 in Suraxanı raion. Military service In April 1992, Javanshir Rahimov entered active military service. He became an onboard shooter on Military helicopters. He expressed his desire to go to war as a volunteer and was assigned to a Mil Mi-24, MI-24 Helicopter. Nagorno Karabakh War On August 6, 1992, on his second flight of the day he was wounded. Rahimov insisted that he was ready for flight and flew again. This time their helicopter was shot down by missile fire from Armenian forces. National Heroes Of Azerbaijan
The National Hero of Azerbaijan ( az, Azərbaycan milli qəhrəmanı) is the highest national title in the Republic of Azerbaijan. The title was named on 25 March 1992, and the "Qizil Ulduz" Medal awarded as a sign of receiving this title was established by a separate law in 15 July 1992. The law on the title has been in effect since 25 December 1995. It can only be awarded once to the same person. The title is awarded for outstanding services of national importance to Azerbaijan in defence and strengthening of the state system and creation of important national values. Ruslan Polovinko ( uk, Руслан Олександрович Половинко; 21 October 1969 – 6 August 1992) was a Ukrainian–Azerbaijani helicopter pilot and lieutenant, who participated in the First Nagorno-Karabakh War within Azerbaijani military. For his actions in the war he was posthumously awarded the title of the National Hero of Azerbaijan. Biography Polovinko was born on 21 October 1969, in Zmiiv of the Kharkiv Oblast of Ukraine.
