Zahor Chocolates
Zahor Chocolates was a Spanish professional cycling team that was active between 1985 and 1989. History The team was led primarily by Miguel Moreno Cachinero, who led the team for four years. They were primarily supplied bikes by Macario, with the exception of the first season in 1985. The team's most successful race was the Vuelta a España, where they won a total of four stages. For the 1987 Giro d'Italia the team was renamed Zahor Chocolates-Tokke, when Tokke became a co-sponsor. The team was also briefly renamed to Zahor Chocolates-Pralin for the 1988 Giro d'Italia, with the acquisition of the sponsor Pralin. Vuelta A España
The Vuelta a España (; en, Tour of Spain) is an annual multi-stage bicycle race primarily held in Spain, while also occasionally making passes through nearby countries. Inspired by the success of the Tour de France and the Giro d'Italia, the race was first organised in 1935. The race was prevented from being run by the Spanish Civil War and World War II in the early years of its existence; however, the race has been held annually since 1955. As the Vuelta gained prestige and popularity the race was lengthened and its reach began to extend all around the globe. 1988 Giro D'Italia
The 1988 Giro d'Italia was the 71st running of the race. It started in Urbino, on 23 May, with a individual time trial and concluded in Vittorio Veneto, on 12 June, with a individual time trial. A total of 180 riders from 20 teams entered the 21-stage race, which was won by American Andrew Hampsten of the team. The second and third places were taken by Dutchman Erik Breukink and Swiss Urs Zimmermann, respectively. It was the third time – and second successive year – in the history of the Giro that the podium was occupied solely by non-Italian riders. In the first half of the race, the overall classification had been headed for several days by Massimo Podenzana. The 42nd Edition ''Vuelta a España'' (Tour of Spain), a long-distance bicycle stage race and one of the 3 grand tours, was held from 23 April to 15 May 1987. It was the first win of a Grand Tour by a Colombian and also the first of a South American.
