Zach Muckenhirn
Zachary E. Muckenhirn (born February 27, 1995) is an American professional baseball pitcher who is a free agent. He has previously played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the New York Mets. Career Amateur career Muckenhirn graduated from Delano High School in Delano, Minnesota, in 2013. He attended the University of North Dakota (UND) and played college baseball for the North Dakota Fighting Hawks. Baltimore Orioles The Baltimore Orioles selected Muckenhirn in the 11th round, with the 331st overall selection, of the 2016 MLB draft. With the selection, he become the highest drafted player in UND history. He made his professional debut with the Low-A Aberdeen IronBirds, appearing in 12 games and registering a 5–2 record and 2.43 ERA with 34 strikeouts. In baseball, the pitcher is the player who throws ("pitches") the baseball from the pitcher's mound toward the catcher to begin each play, with the goal of retiring a batter, who attempts to either make contact with the pitched ball or draw a walk. Bowie Baysox
The Bowie Baysox are a Minor League Baseball team located in Bowie, Maryland. They are the Double-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles, and play in the Eastern League. Their home ballpark is Prince George's Stadium. History From 1989 to 1992, the Orioles' Double-A affiliate was located in Hagerstown, Maryland and called the Suns. When Major League Baseball added two teams in 1993, bids were offered for two new Triple-A franchises, and the Maryland Baseball Limited Partnership (which owned the Suns and also the Advanced-A Frederick Keys) got into the running to put one of the new franchises in central Maryland. Christopher Flexen Jr. (born July 1, 1994) is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Seattle Mariners of Major League Baseball (MLB). He previously played in MLB for the New York Mets and in the KBO League for the Doosan Bears. Designated for assignment (DFA) is a contractual term used in Major League Baseball (MLB). A player who is designated for assignment is immediately removed from the team's 40-man roster, after which the team must within seven days, return the player to the 40-man roster, place the player on waivers, trade the player, release the player, or outright the player from the 40-man roster into Minor League Baseball. Historically, doubleheaders have been played in immediate succession, in front of the same crowd. Contemporarily, the term is also used to refer to two games played between two teams in a single day in front of different crowds and not in immediate succession.
