Z. Mann Zilla
Z. Mann Zilla (born July 23, 1976) is an American rapper and artist. Artistic career Z. Mann Zilla depicted the adventures of the fictional character "Guy Friday", as part of the liner notes for the David Kane Quartet album ''The Life And Times of Guy Friday''. The art style drew from a variety of sources, including Bill Keane's Family Circus and anime. He is also credited with creating animatics for the animated short ''Clicker Clatter''. This is in addition to his many other artistic projects. Z. Mann participated in various art festivals in Buffalo, New York, including the annual Music Is Art Festival and Buffalo Infringement Festival. Musical career Z. Mann formed a band called "Z. Mann Zilla & The World's Largest Trio," which consisted of about eight members, including a banjo player and blindfolded guitarist. Alternative Hip Hop
Alternative hip hop (also known as alternative rap) is a subgenre of hip hop music that encompasses a wide range of styles that are not typically identified as mainstream. AllMusic defines it as comprising " hip hop groups that refuse to conform to any of the traditional stereotypes of rap, such as gangsta, bass, hardcore, and party rap. Instead, they blur genres drawing equally from funk and pop/rock, as well as jazz, soul, reggae, and even folk." Alternative hip hop developed in the late 1980s and experienced a degree of mainstream recognition during the early-to-mid 1990s. While some groups such as Arrested Development and The Fugees managed to achieve commercial success before breaking up, many alternative rap acts tend to be embraced by alternative rock listeners other than hip-hop or pop audiences. Robert Carl Takac Jr. (born September 30, 1964) is an American rock bassist and vocalist. Takac is one of the founding members of the Goo Goo Dolls, along with Johnny Rzeznik. Background Takac was born in Buffalo, New York and grew up in the Buffalo suburb of West Seneca with his parents and younger sister. One of his grandparents was Hungarian, which is reflected by his name (originally written: Takács, which is Hungarian for 'weaver'). He graduated from West Seneca East Senior High School in 1982. He graduated from Medaille College with a Communication degree, with an emphasis on Radio Broadcasting. In his college years, he played in several bands and interned and worked at a local Buffalo radio station. In 2008, Takac was named to the Medaille College Board of Trustees.
