Yuying Secondary School
Yuying Secondary () was founded by the Hainanese Community in 1910 as a Chinese medium high school. Today, it follows the mainstream public education system and offers the Singapore-Cambridge GCE ‘O’ and ‘N’ Levels. It also uses a full English curriculum, except for foreign or mother tongue languages. Initially, it was known as Yock Eng School (). In 1947, it was renamed to Yock Eng High School (). Finally, in 1985, its name is changed to Yuying Secondary (). It was previously located at the present CDAC premise and moved to the current site at Hougang in 1986. History 1910–1940 On 15 March 1910, Yock Eng School, a Chinese primary school, was founded by 7 Hainanese community leaders. Hougang is a planning area and mature residential town located in the North-East Region of Singapore. The town is the most populous in the region, being home to 247,528 residents as of 2018. Anglican High School (AHS) is a co-educational, government-aided autonomous Anglican secondary school located in Tanah Merah, Singapore. One of the Special Assistance Plan (SAP) schools in Singapore, it offers a four-year secondary education leading to the Singapore-Cambridge GCE Ordinary Level examinations. History AHS was founded in 1956 by the Chinese-speaking congregations of the Anglican Diocese of Singapore. It was the only Anglican school in Singapore with Chinese as its medium of instruction. Aloysius Pang (; 24 August 1990 – 24 January 2019) was a Singaporeans, Singaporean actor managed under NoonTalk Media, best known for his involvement in multiple Mediacorp dramas. Han Sai Por (; born 19 July 1943) is a Singaporean sculptor. A graduate of the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA), East Ham College of Art, Wolverhampton College of Art (now the School of Art and Design of the University of Wolverhampton) and Lincoln University, New Zealand, she worked as a teacher and later as a part-time lecturer at NAFA, the LASALLE-SIA College of the Arts, and the National Institute of Education, Nanyang Technological University, before becoming a full-time artist in 1997. Hainanese
Hainanese (Hainan Romanised: ', Hainanese Pinyin: ',), also known as Qióngwén, Heng2 vun2 () or Qióngyǔ, Heng2 yi2 (), is a group of Min Chinese varieties spoken in the southern Chinese island province of Hainan and Overseas Chinese such as Malaysia. In the classification of Yuan Jiahua, it was included in the Southern Min group, being mutually unintelligible with other Southern Min varieties such as Hokkien–Taiwanese and Teochew.
