Anglican High School, Singapore
Anglican High School (AHS) is a co-educational, government-aided autonomous Anglican secondary school located in Tanah Merah, Singapore. One of the Special Assistance Plan (SAP) schools in Singapore, it offers a four-year secondary education leading to the Singapore-Cambridge GCE Ordinary Level examinations. History AHS was founded in 1956 by the Chinese-speaking congregations of the Anglican Diocese of Singapore. It was the only Anglican school in Singapore with Chinese as its medium of instruction. All others were English-medium schools. The school was officially opened on 9 January 1956 under the guidance of Reverend Huang Yang Yin. Three Chinese teachers and three English teachers were employed, and 123 male students started taking lessons at the campus of another Anglican school, Saint Andrew's Secondary School. In Singapore, a co-curricular activity (CCA), previously known as an extracurricular activity (ECA), is a non-academic activity that all students must undertake as part of their education. Introduced by the Ministry of Education (MOE), CCAs are strongly encouraged at the primary and post-secondary level but compulsory at secondary level. Students can choose from 4 categories: clubs and societies, physical sports, uniformed groups, and visual and performing arts. They may also start their own activities with the school’s approval. Anyone offering enrichment activities to schools must be registered with the MOE. The idea behind extracurricular activity is to broaden the child's experience and encourage the development of civic and personal values. Reverend Ho Yeow Sun (), better known as Sun Ho, is a Singaporean Christian pastor and co-founder of City Harvest Church, and former Mandopop singer. Early life Ho studied at Anglican High School and Victoria Junior College. Born in Singapore, she started as a pastor when she was 20 years old with her husband, Kong Hee, founding City Harvest Church. John Clang
John Clang, born Ang Choon Leng (), is a Singaporean visual artist, photographer and independent filmmaker. His work has been exhibited in galleries and museums worldwide. National Museum of Singapore and Singapore Art Museum acquired his artwork as part of their permanent collection. Clang currently lives and works in Singapore and New York. Jerry Yeo (, born 29 June 1986) is a Singaporean actor. He was a versatile full-time Mediacorp artiste, actor and TV host from 2007 to 2014. Career Yeo joined Star Search 2007 whilst a freshman at Nanyang Technological University and was first runner-up. He was signed by MediaCorp but played only minor roles for some time due to his studies. Yeo was nominated for the Best Newcomer Award in 2009. National Police Cadet Corps
The National Police Cadet Corps (NPCC) is one of the national uniformed group for youths between age 13 to 17 in Singapore. The organisation is supported by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Home Affairs. Established in 1959, it trains young boys and girls in the values of law enforcement and public safety.
