Yuri Ivanov (speedway Rider)
Yuri Leonidovich Ivanov (born 2 July 1959) is a former international speedway rider from the Soviet Union. Speedway career Kazakov is a three times world champion after winning the gold medal at the Individual Ice Speedway World Championship in the 1986 Individual Ice Speedway World Championship, 1987 Individual Ice Speedway World Championship and 1992 Individual Ice Speedway World Championship. In addition he won the Team Ice Racing World Championship seven times (1986, 1987, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1991 and 1992). Buryat Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic
The Buryat Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic (russian: Бурятская Автономная Советская Социалистическая Республика; bua, Буряадай Автономито Совет Социалис Республика), abbreviated as Buryat ASSR ( rus, Бурятская АССР; bua, Буряадай АССР, link=no), was an autonomous republic of the Russian SFSR within the Soviet Union. In 1923, the republic was created with the name Buryat-Mongol Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic; its predecessor was the Buryat-Mongol Autonomous Oblast. In 1958, the name "Mongol" was removed from the name of the republic. The Buryat ASSR declared its sovereignty in 1990 and adopted the name Republic of Buryatia in 1992. The 1988 Individual Ice Speedway World Championship was the 23rd edition of the World Championship The Championship was held on 12 and 13 March 1988 in Eindhoven in the Netherlands. The winner was Erik Stenlund of Sweden for the second time. He beat Yuri Ivanov by two points to stop Ivanov from claiming a third consecutive title.
