"Yummy" is a song by Canadian singer Justin Bieber. It was released through Def Jam Recordings, as the lead single from his fifth studio album, ''Changes'', on January 3, 2020. The song is Bieber's first solo single to be released in almost four years, following "Company", a song from his fourth studio album, '' Purpose'' (2015), but the song was released as a single in 2016. Bieber joined the video-sharing social networking service TikTok on the day of the song's release. "Yummy" received mixed-to-negative reviews from music critics, some of whom complimented on Bieber's vocal performance while others criticized the song's production, its songwriting, and Bieber's delivery. TikTok, known in China as Douyin (), is a short-form video hosting service owned by the Chinese company ByteDance. Trap is a subgenre of hip hop music that originated in the Southern United States during the 1990s. The genre gets its name from the Atlanta slang word "trap", a house used exclusively to sell drugs. Trap music uses synthesized drums and is characterized by complex hi-hat patterns, tuned kick drums with a long decay (originally from the Roland TR-808 drum machine), and lyrical content that often focuses on drug use and urban violence.
