''Young Love'' is the first single to be released from Mystery Jets' second album '' Twenty One''. It was released on 10 March 2008, on CD, two 7" singles and digital download. Unlike most Mystery Jets songs, which are sung by Blaine Harrison, the band's guitarist William Rees sings lead vocals on the song. The song also features guest vocals from singer/songwriter Laura Marling Laura Beatrice Marling (born 1 February 1990) is a British folk singer-songwriter. Mystery Jets
Mystery Jets are an English indie rock band, formerly based on Eel Pie Island in Twickenham, London. The band consists of Blaine Harrison (vocals, guitar and keyboards), Jack Flanagan (bass and vocals), Kapil Trivedi (drums) and Henry Harrison (lyrics). History Formation and early demos (2003) The band's first line-up consisted of Blaine Harrison on drums, William Rees on guitar and Henry Harrison (Blaine's father) on bass. Henry became a second guitarist in the band and they were joined by Kai Fish on bass and Tamara Pearce-Higgins on the organ. Kai joined the band after suggestions that they needed a bassist (he played the cello originally). Their original name was The Misery Jets, which was taken from an Evening Standard headline (Eel Pie Island is under the Heathrow flight path, where planes can be frequently spotted). Laura Marling
Laura Beatrice Marling (born 1 February 1990) is a British folk singer-songwriter. She won the Brit Award for Best British Female Solo Artist at the 2011 Brit Awards and was nominated for the same award at the 2012, 2014, 2016, and 2018 Brit Awards. Marling joined her older sisters in London at age 16 to pursue a career in music. She played with a number of groups and released her debut album, '' Alas, I Cannot Swim'', in 2008. ''Twenty One'' is the second studio album by Mystery Jets, released in the UK on 24 March 2008. The first single from the album, " Young Love" featuring Laura Marling, was released on 10 March 2008. The album originally reached #50 in the UK Albums Chart but was hastily rereleased with an additional cover of Aztec Camera's hit single "Somewhere in My Heart" to coincide with the release of eighties-themed single "Two Doors Down" (featuring sax by Nik Carter), which peaked at #24 in the UK Singles Chart. This new version of the album peaked at #42 in the charts. "Young Love", "Two Doors Down" and "Half in Love with Elizabeth" were released as singles. 679 Artists (formally known as Sixsevenine and 679 Recordings) was a Warner Music Group-owned record label based in London, England. It was started by Nick Worthington who after leaving XL Recordings in 2001, started the company with Warner Music Group, and holds the position of MD and A&R Director. It is named "679" as this was the address of the Pure Groove record shop on Holloway Road. Blaine Harrison (born Stephen Blaine Harrison on 23 May 1985) is an English musician and songwriter best known as the lead vocalist of the indie rock band Mystery Jets. Two Doors Down (Mystery Jets Song)
"Two Doors Down" is the second single from the Mystery Jets album '' Twenty One'' and it features a saxophone solo by Nik Carter (of The Blackjack Horns). The single became their second highest-charting single in the UK Singles Chart, peaking at number 24, second to "The Boy Who Ran Away" which charted one place higher at number 23. In October 2011, ''NME'' placed it at number 100 on its list "150 Best Tracks of the Past 15 Years".
