Twenty One (Mystery Jets Album)
''Twenty One'' is the second studio album by Mystery Jets, released in the UK on 24 March 2008. The first single from the album, " Young Love" featuring Laura Marling, was released on 10 March 2008. The album originally reached #50 in the UK Albums Chart but was hastily rereleased with an additional cover of Aztec Camera's hit single "Somewhere in My Heart" to coincide with the release of eighties-themed single "Two Doors Down" (featuring sax by Nik Carter), which peaked at #24 in the UK Singles Chart. This new version of the album peaked at #42 in the charts. "Young Love", "Two Doors Down" and "Half in Love with Elizabeth" were released as singles. All three songs, in addition to "Flakes" (which was released as a free download of the week via the UK iTunes Store) had music videos shot for them. Mystery Jets
Mystery Jets are an English indie rock band, formerly based on Eel Pie Island in Twickenham, London. The band consists of Blaine Harrison (vocals, guitar and keyboards), Jack Flanagan (bass and vocals), Kapil Trivedi (drums) and Henry Harrison (lyrics). History Formation and early demos (2003) The band's first line-up consisted of Blaine Harrison on drums, William Rees on guitar and Henry Harrison (Blaine's father) on bass. Henry became a second guitarist in the band and they were joined by Kai Fish on bass and Tamara Pearce-Higgins on the organ. Kai joined the band after suggestions that they needed a bassist (he played the cello originally). Their original name was The Misery Jets, which was taken from an Evening Standard headline (Eel Pie Island is under the Heathrow flight path, where planes can be frequently spotted). Two Doors Down (Mystery Jets Song)
"Two Doors Down" is the second single from the Mystery Jets album '' Twenty One'' and it features a saxophone solo by Nik Carter (of The Blackjack Horns). The single became their second highest-charting single in the UK Singles Chart, peaking at number 24, second to "The Boy Who Ran Away" which charted one place higher at number 23. In October 2011, ''NME'' placed it at number 100 on its list "150 Best Tracks of the Past 15 Years". Reviews ''Musicomh'' gave a positive review saying that "With the help of Erol Alkan they convey this in sweeping, romantic gestures that wouldn't have been out of place in the charts in the 1980s - yet thanks to the producers's intervention sound bang up to date" and went on to say "With a melody that won't be leaving your brain for some time, this is one of the Jets' poppiest offering yet, given a dash of camp attitude to complete a memorable single". "Kiss with a Fist" is the debut single by indie rock band Florence and the Machine, taken from their debut studio album ''Lungs'' (2009). The single was released through Moshi Moshi Records on 9 June 2008 in the UK and was then released four months later on 6 October 2008 through IAMSOUND Records in the US. The B-side to "Kiss with a Fist" is a cover version of the Cold War Kids song "Hospital Beds". Aztec Camera were a Scottish pop/ new wave band founded by Roddy Frame, the group's singer, songwriter, and only consistent member.
