Yorgan De Castro (born December 19, 1987) is a Cape Verdean professional mixed martial artist who competes in the Heavyweight division of Professional Fighters League (PFL). He is most notable for fighting in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Background Castro was born and raised in the island of St. Vincent, Cape Verde. At 18 years old he moved to Portugal and started kickboxing training, making his official fighting debut only 6 months after. He dreamed of one day fighting in the big kickboxing promotions K-1 and Glory but never believed it would be possible in Portugal. Later moving to the US to be with his family, his uncle convinced him to train at Lauzon MMA, owned by the current UFC Fighter Joe Lauzon, where he discovered MMA and started training. ''PFL 5'' was a mixed martial arts event produced by the Professional Fighters League that took place on June 16, 2023, at the Overtime Elite Arena in, Atlanta, Georgia, United States. This marked the fifth regular-season event of the tournament and included fights in the Heavyweight and Women's Featherweight divisions. Background This event was headlined by returning 2022 Heavyweight Champion Ante Delija facing UFC veteran Maurice Greene and 2022 Women's Lightweight Champion Larissa Pacheco facing off against Bellator veteran Amber Leibrock in a featherweight bout. The ''PFL 2'' mixed martial arts event for the 2023 season of the Professional Fighters League was held on April 7, 2023, at The Theater at Virgin Hotels in Paradise, Nevada, United States. This marked the second regular-season event of the tournament and included fights in the Heavyweight and Women's Featherweight divisions.
