Yvonne Suhor
Yvonne Theresa Suhor (November 29, 1961 – September 27, 2018) was an American actress and acting instructor. Early life and education Suhor was born in New Orleans, Louisiana. She graduated from Illinois State University in 1985, and later received her MFA from the University of Southern California. Career Suhor appeared in a number of movies and TV series, most notably as Cicely in an Emmy Award-winning episode of ''Northern Exposure'' and as series regular Louise McCloud for three seasons on ''The Young Riders''. She also guest-starred on ''Brooklyn Bridge'' (in a recurring role), ''Murder, She Wrote'', '' Star Trek: Voyager'', ''Renegade'', and '' Sheena''. Suhor's theatre credits included Steppenwolf's ''The Grapes of Wrath'' and '' Lydie Breeze'', and she was a two-time Jeff Award nominee. The Grapes Of Wrath (play)
''The Grapes of Wrath'' is a 1988 play adapted by Frank Galati from the classic 1939 John Steinbeck novel of the same name, with incidental music by Michael Smith. The play debuted at the Steppenwolf Theatre in Chicago, followed by a May 1989 production at the La Jolla Playhouse in San Diego and a June 1989 production at the Royal National Theatre in London. After eleven previews, the Broadway production, directed by Galati, opened on March 22, 1990 at the Cort Theatre, where it ran for 188 performances. The cast included Gary Sinise, Kathryn Erbe, Terry Kinney, Jeff Perry, Lois Smith, Francis Guinan, and Stephen Bogardus. It aired on the cable television network AMC in the United States from August 6, 2018, to October 14, 2019, spanning two seasons and 20 episodes. Meisner Technique
The Meisner technique is an approach to acting developed by American theatre practitioner Sanford Meisner. The goal of the Meisner approach is for the actor to not focus on themselves and instead concentrate on the other actors in the immediate environment. To this end, some exercises for the Meisner technique are rooted in repetition so that the words are deemed insignificant compared to the underlying emotion. In the Meisner technique, there is a greater focus on the other actor as opposed to one's internal thoughts or feelings associated with the character. The Meisner technique is different from method acting taught by Lee Strasberg, although both developed from the early teachings of Konstantin Stanislavski.
