Yushan (Changshu)
Yushan () is a hill located in the northwest of Changshu in Jiangsu Province, China. It is named after Yu Zhong, a government official who was buried in the hill during the Shang and Zhou dynasty. Yushan is 300 meters high and 6.5 kilometers long. It looks like a sleeping cow. Yushan is known for "Eighteen Scenery". Changshu
Changshu (; Suzhounese: /d͡ʐan¹³ ʐoʔ²³/) is a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Suzhou, Jiangsu province, and is part of the Yangtze River Delta. It borders the prefecture-level city of Nantong to the northeast across the Yangtze River. Due to the mild climate and terrain there, it has enjoyed a high level of agricultural civilization since ancient times, and is named after this, for the first character of its name () means "always, often", while the second () means "ripe". The name of the adjacent county-level city of Taicang means "great granary". History Changshu first became an independent county in 540 AD, but in 581 was made subordinate to Suzhou. Yu Zhong
Yu Zhong (于忠) (452–518), né Wuniuyu Qiannian (勿忸于千年), courtesy name Sixian (思賢), formally Duke Wujing of Lingshou (靈壽武敬公), was an official of the Northern Wei dynasty. He briefly served as a regent during the reign of Emperor Xiaoming. Background and early career Wuniuyu Qiannian was born from a line of Northern Wei nobles of Xianbei ethnicity. His great-grandfather Wuniuyu Lidi (勿忸于栗磾) was one of Northern Wei's most famous generals during the reigns of Emperor Mingyuan and Emperor Taiwu. His father Wuniuyu Lie (勿忸于烈) served as a general during the reigns of Emperor Xiaowen and Emperor Xuanwu. Yangcheng Lake
Yangcheng Lake () is a freshwater lake about northeast of the city of Suzhou in Jiangsu Province, and ranges in depth from . Lake Tai
Taihu (), also known as Lake Tai or Lake Taihu, is a lake in the Yangtze Delta and one of the largest freshwater lakes in China. Yanzi's Tomb
Yanzi's Tomb () is the tomb of Yan Yan, a prominent disciple of Confucius. He is honorifically known as Yanzi (Master Yan). The tomb is located on Yushan, Changshu, Jiangsu Province, China. Yanzi was a native of Changshu. As a young man he went to the State of Lu where he studied under Confucius. Yanzi, hard-working and intelligent, excelled in literature.
