Yuri Vasilyevich Gulyayev (russian: Юрий Васильевич Гуляев) — (born 18 September 1935 in Tomilino, Moscow Oblast) is a Soviet and Russian physicist and inventor, Full Member and Member of the Presidium of Russian Academy of Sciences (1992), head of the Semiconductor Electronics chair in the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (1971). Yuri Gulyayev works in the field of solid-state physics, radiophysics, electronics, computer science and medical electronics. Tomilino (russian: Томи́лино) is an urban locality (a work settlement) in Lyuberetsky District of Moscow Oblast, Russia. An asteroid is a minor planet of the inner Solar System. Sizes and shapes of asteroids vary significantly, ranging from 1-meter rocks to a dwarf planet almost 1000 km in diameter; they are rocky, metallic or icy bodies with no atmosphere. Acousto-optics is a branch of physics that studies the interactions between sound waves and light waves, especially the diffraction of laser light by ultrasound (or sound in general) through an ultrasonic grating. Introduction Optics has had a very long and full history, from ancient Greece, through the renaissance and modern times.
