Yuliya Tarasova (born 13 March 1986) is an Uzbekistani heptathlete and long jumper. Tarasova was born in Tashkent. She finished seventh at the 2003 World Youth Championships in Athletics, 2003 World Youth Championships, fourteenth at the 2004 World Junior Championships in Athletics, 2004 World Junior Championships, 26th at the Athletics at the 2008 Summer Olympics – Women's heptathlon, 2008 Olympic Games, and 21st at the 2009 World Championships in Athletics – Women's heptathlon, 2009 World Championships. She won the gold medal at the 2009 Asian Athletics Championships, 2009 Asian Championships and the 2010 Asian Games. Her personal best score is 5989 points, achieved in May 2009 in Desenzano del Garda. Tashkent (, uz, Toshkent, Тошкент/, ) (from russian: Ташкент), or Toshkent (; ), also historically known as Chach is the capital and largest city of Uzbekistan. Long Jump
The long jump is a track and field event in which athletes combine speed, strength and agility in an attempt to leap as far as possible from a takeoff point. Along with the triple jump, the two events that measure jumping for distance as a group are referred to as the "horizontal jumps". The Women's Heptathlon at the 2009 World Championships in Athletics was held at the Olympic Stadium on August 16 and August 17.
