Ypsonas FC ( el, Ύψωνας FC) is Cyprus, Cypriot Association football, football club based in Ypsonas of the Limassol District. Until May 14, 2019, the name of the club was Enosi Neon Ypsona-Digenis ( el, Ένωση Νέων Ύψωνα - Διγενής Ύψωνα). History The club was founded in 2014 after the merger of two clubs: Enosi Neon Ypsona and Digenis Akritas Ipsona. In July 2022, Russian football blogger Yevgeny Savin has bought the club and became the new owner. He is intended to merge it with his other club FC Krasava. Ypsonas (also spelled ''Ipsonas'', el, Ύψωνας, Ypsōnas, Turkish: İpsona) is a municipality in the Limassol prefecture of Cyprus. It is one of the largest villages in the Limassol District of Cyprus and is located about 7 kilometers west of Limassol city. The southern part of the village is within the administrative borders of the British military base of Akrotiri - Episkopi. Stylianos of Paphlagonia (Latin: ''Stylianus'', Greek: ''Στυλιανός'', English: ''Stylian''), also known as Stylianos the Hermit, is venerated as a saint from Adrianopolis in the province of Paphlagonia (modern Turkey). Uroš Poljanec (born 23 August 1991) is a Slovenian professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper. Besides Slovenia, he has played in Austria, Mongolia, Iceland, Cyprus, Romania, and India. Club career In 2015, Poljanec was noticed by an agent who was pursuing players to sign for Mongolian championship contenders Khoromkhon. As the club were in clamant need of a goalkeeper, the agent offered him a contract, which he accepted, becoming the first Slovenian to play in Mongolia as a result.
