"Youth Gone Wild" is the debut single from American heavy metal band Skid Row's debut album, released in January 1989. Background The song's music video received heavy airplay on MTV; however, as a single it only reached #99 on the US ''Billboard'' Hot 100 and reached #27 on the Mainstream Rock Tracks. The song was re-released as a single in 1992, with a live recording of "Delivering the Goods" (from the band's '' B-Side Ourselves'' EP) as the B-side; it charted again at #22 on the UK Singles chart. Skid Row (American Band)
Skid Row is an American rock band formed in 1986 in Toms River, New Jersey. Their current lineup comprises bassist Rachel Bolan, guitarists Dave Sabo and Scotti Hill, drummer Rob Hammersmith and vocalist Erik Grönwall. The group achieved commercial success in the late 1980s and early 1990s, with its first two albums ''Skid Row'' (1989) and ''Slave to the Grind'' (1991) certified multi-platinum, the latter of which reached number one on the ''Billboard'' 200. Those two albums also produced some of Skid Row's most popular hits, both in and outside of the United States, including "18 and Life" and " I Remember You", which peaked in the top 10 of the ''Billboard'' Hot 100, and other charting singles such as "Youth Gone Wild", " Monkey Business", "Slave to the Grind", " Wasted Time", and "In a Darkened Room". The ''Billboard'' Hot 100 is the music industry standard record chart in the United States for songs, published weekly by '' Billboard'' magazine. Chart rankings are based on sales (physical and digital), radio play, and online streaming in the United States. The weekly tracking period for sales was initially Monday to Sunday when Nielsen started tracking sales in 1991, but was changed to Friday to Thursday in July 2015. This tracking period also applies to compiling online streaming data. A skid row or skid road is an impoverished area, typically urban, in English-speaking North America whose inhabitants are mostly poor people " on the skids". This specifically refers to poor or homeless, considered disreputable, downtrodden or forgotten by society. A skid row may be anything from an impoverished urban district to a red-light district to a gathering area for homeless people and drug addicts. In general, ''skid row'' areas are inhabited or frequented by impoverished individuals and also drug addicts. Ramones
The Ramones were an American punk rock band that formed in the New York City neighborhood of Forest Hills, Queens, in 1974. They are often cited as the first true punk rock group. Despite achieving a limited commercial appeal in the United States during their time together, the band saw more success in England and Brazil, and are today seen as highly influential. Judas Priest
Judas Priest are an English heavy metal band formed in Birmingham in 1969. They have sold over 50 million albums and are frequently ranked as one of the greatest metal bands of all time. Despite an innovative and pioneering body of work in the latter half of the 1970s, the band had struggled with indifferent record production and a lack of major commercial success until 1980, when they rose to commercial success with the album '' British Steel''. Heavy metal (or simply metal) is a genre of rock music that developed in the late 1960s and early 1970s, largely in the United Kingdom and United States.
