Youri Vorobyev
Youri Germanovich Vorobyev (russian: Юрий Германович Воробьев) is a Soviet-born coach of acrobatic gymnastics who produced more than a dozen world-championship acrobatic gymnasts during his coaching career in the Soviet Union and Russia. He currently resides and coaches in the U.S. state of California. He is the owner and head coach at Realis Gymnastics Academy in Southern California’s Moreno Valley, which is the training facility for seven members of the 2011 junior and senior U.S. national acrobatic gymnastics teams. Vorobyev’s odyssey from Russia to the United States began when he met U.S. mixed-pair gymnast Arthur Davis of Empire AcroGymnastics at a competition in Belgium. Clare Brunson
Clare Brunson (born November 6, 1989) is a retired elite acrobatic gymnast who competed as the top in a mixed-pair team with elite acrobatic gymnast Michael Rodrigues, also now retired. Brunson and Rodrigues were the second U.S. mixed pair (after Arthur Davis and Shenea Booth) to medal at the Acrobatic Gymnastics World Championships, earning the bronze medal in the all-around at the 2006 World Championships in Coimbra, Portugal. Also in 2006, Rodrigues and Brunson won the all-around silver medal at the 2006 World Cup in Puurs, Belgium, and they won the all-around, dynamic and balance at the U.S. National Acrobatic Gymnastics Championships for the second straight year. Michael Rodrigues (born August 31, 1982) is a retired elite acrobatic gymnast who now performs in the Cirque du Soleil show ''Viva ELVIS'' in Las Vegas Valley, Las Vegas, Nevada, along with his former mixed-pairs partner, retired elite acrobatic gymnast Kristin Allen. Allen and Rodrigues won the gold medal in the mixed-pair all-around at the 2010 Acrobatic Gymnastics World Championships in Wrocław, Poland. They also won the all-around title at 2010 U.S. National Acrobatic Gymnastics Championships in Kissimmee, Florida, placing first in the all-around, dynamic and balance. Acrobatic Gymnastics
Acrobatic gymnastics is a competitive gymnastic discipline where partnerships of gymnasts work together and perform figures consisting of acrobatic moves, dance and tumbling, set to music. There are three types of routines; a 'balance' routine (at FIG grade 5 and above) where the focus is on strength, poise and flexibility; a 'dynamic' routine (also FIG grade 5 and above) which includes throws, somersaults and catches, and (at FIG grade 6 and above, as well as grade 4 and below) a 'combined' routine which includes elements from both balance and dynamic.
