Youngman MC
Youngman (born Simon Smith) is a British urban MC and vocalist signed to Shy FX’s label Digital Soundboy Records. He has been awarded MistaJam’s Jam Hot, Zane Lowe’s Next Hype and Annie Mac’s record of the week. Son of Simon “Bassline” Smith, Youngman grew up and lives in Derby in the East Midlands of England. He has been the MC and ‘hype man’ to the likes of Breakage, Skream, Benga, Shy FX and the Digital Soundboy family. In 2008 Youngman was runner-up in the Drum & Bass Awards Best Breakthrough MC category. In 2010 Youngman took to the studio with Benga to record early releases including ‘One and Only’, ‘Ho’ and ‘Tear It Out’/’I Warned Ya’. His forthcoming album, ‘Me and My Music’ is a mixture of UK urban influences. Matthew James Firth Coleman, better known by his stage name MJ Cole, is an English garage DJ, record producer and remixer. Career Born in London, England, in his youth, Cole was classically trained on the oboe and piano, and won scholarships to both the Royal College of Music Junior Department and City of London School. Having graduated from City University, Cole began working at the drum and bass label SOUR, as a tape operator and sound engineer to the likes of Freq Nasty and Ed Rush. It was working on Ramsey & Fen's 2-step remixes for Kym Mazelle, however, that gave him the garage bug. He was the trusted engineer and lead producer of tracks on the UK garage label V.I.P. Benga (musician)
Adegbenga Adejumo (born 1986), known as Benga, is a British musician from Croydon, known for being a pioneer of dubstep record production. He has been featured on a variety of compilations including Mary Anne Hobbs's '' Warrior Dubz'', Tempa's ''The Roots of Dubstep'' and the BBC Radio 1Xtra anniversary mix. Career Adejumo is of Yoruba Nigerian descent. Inspired by UK garage producer Wookie, Benga would produce tunes on a PlayStation, and subsequently FruityLoops. As a teenager he would visit the Big Apple record shop in Croydon where he was introduced to Skream, and together they would help forge the sound of dubstep emerging in the early 2000s. Skream
Oliver Dene Jones (born 1 June 1986), known as Skream, is an English electronic music producer based in Croydon. Skream was an early and influential exponent of the dubstep genre. After producing several singles, he released his first full-length album, '' Skream!'', in 2006. Skream and longtime collaborators Artwork and Benga co-founded a music group called Magnetic Man. Their debut album, ''Magnetic Man'' was released in 2010. In July 2011, Jones had his first child, a son. Jones is the brother of jungle DJ Hijak.
