Young Stars FC
Young Stars FC is a football club based in Torit, South Sudan. The club was established in 2005 by Michael Osukari Aliardo together with other co-founders such as Simon Abaha Ateib known by Okoff. The team started sounding from 2011 when they were crowned champions of South Sudan Cup in Eastern Equatoria Torit during the time of Juda Ojazy Osuru the general secretary, Adam Ohoi the director, Samson Ohide the treasury and Martin Dowla deputy to Adam. Since 2011, this team remains the champion consecutively till date. In November 2016, armed gunmen attacked their team bus, killing the driver and injuring six others. Among casualties were chairman Anthon Fermato the chairman of Torit Local Football Association (TLFA), defender James Jordan Ohitu, and club director Abuna Jovince Otimore. While officiating a fixture in Torit Freedom Square, referee Haidar Moses collapsed on the pitch. Torit is a city of Eastern Equatoria State in South Sudan. History On 18 August 1955, the Equatoria Corps mutinied at Torit, starting the First Sudanese Civil War. In 1964 the military government in Khartoum closed "all the Christian mission schools" in the area. Torit was upgraded to Municipality status administered by a mayor on August 19, 2013. Location The city is in Torit County in Eastern Equatoria State, in the southeastern part of South Sudan, close to the international border with the Republic of Uganda. It is approximately east of Juba, the capital and largest city in South Sudan, by road. The coordinates of Torit are: 4° 24' 28.80"N, 32° 34' 30.00"E (Latitude:4.4080; Longitude:32.5750). Population The population of Torit was last estimated at 20,050, in 2004, and, according to census results, 33,657 in 2008. South Sudan Premiere League
South is one of the cardinal directions or compass points. The direction is the opposite of north and is perpendicular to both east and west. South Sudan
South Sudan (; din, Paguot Thudän), officially the Republic of South Sudan ( din, Paankɔc Cuëny Thudän), is a landlocked country in East Africa. It is bordered by Ethiopia, Sudan, Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Uganda and Kenya. Its population was estimated as 12,778,250 in 2019. South Sudan National Cup
The South Sudan National Cup is an annual knockout association football competition in men's domestic South Sudanese football. Organized by the South Sudan Football Association, the cup began in 2012, not long after South Sudan gained independence. Wau Salaam FC is the most successful club in South Sudan National Cup history, holding three titles. In the most recent competition, nine teams competed in the cup. However, the competition has only been held three times, most recently in 2014. History South Sudan gained its independence from the country of Sudan on July 9, 2011, after a referendum was passed into law. The South Sudan Football Association (SSFA) was formed in April 2011 and has gained membership of FIFA, CAF and CECAFA. Alongside the National Cup, SSFA runs domestic leagues, with the South Sudan Football Championship as the top division.
