Yorkshire Women Cricket Team
The Yorkshire Women's cricket team is the women's representative cricket team for the English historic county of Yorkshire. They play their home games at St George's Road, Harrogate, and are captained by Hollie Armitage. In 2019, they played in Division One of the final season of the Women's County Championship, and have since competed in the Women's Twenty20 Cup. Yorkshire contribute some players to making up a North Representative XI, and they are partnered with the regional side Northern Diamonds. History 1935–1996: Early History Yorkshire Women played their first recorded match in 1935, against Yorkshire Cricket Federation Women. They went on to play various one-off matches, often against neighbouring teams such as Lancashire, as well as against touring sides such as Australia and New Zealand. Hollie Armitage
Hollie Jade Armitage (born 14 June 1997) is an English cricketer who currently captains Yorkshire and Northern Diamonds, as well as playing for Northern Superchargers and Central Districts. An all-rounder, she plays as a right-handed batter and right-arm leg break bowler. She has previously played for Yorkshire Diamonds, Sydney Sixers and Tasmania. Early life Armitage was born on 14 June 1997 in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire. Domestic career Armitage made her county debut in 2013, for Yorkshire against Surrey, scoring 25 runs and taking 3/2 from 1.4 overs in a 12-run victory. In 2016, she was Yorkshire's leading run-scorer in the County Championship, with 153 runs including two half-centuries, as well as taking 7 wickets at an average of 12.85. 1999 Women's County Championship
The 1999 Women's County One-Day Championship was the 3rd cricket Women's County Championship season. It took place in July and saw 10 county teams, 3 county Second XIs and 5 regional teams compete in a series of divisions. East Midlands Women won the County Championship as winners of the top division, achieving their first Championship title. Competition format Teams played matches within a series of divisions with the winners of the top division being crowned County Champions. Matches were played using a one day format with 50 overs per side. The championship works on a points system with positions within the divisions being based on the total points. The 2011 Women's Twenty20 Cup was the 3rd cricket Women's Twenty20 Cup tournament. It took place in August and September, with 35 teams taking part: 33 county teams plus Wales and the Netherlands. Berkshire Women Cricket Team
The Berkshire Women's cricket team is the women's representative cricket team for the English historic county of Berkshire. They play their home games at various grounds across the county, including Summerleaze Road, Maidenhead and Falkland CC, Newbury, and are captained by Ashleigh Muttitt. They competed in Division One of the Women's County Championship until 2017, when they were relegated, and they won the Women's Twenty20 Cup in 2010. They are partnered with the regional side Southern Vipers. It ran from late April to the beginning of June and saw 32 county teams and teams representing Scotland, Wales and the Netherlands compete in a series of divisions. Kent Women won the County Championship as winners of the top division with Yorkshire finishing runners-up. This is the record eighth Championship for Kent. The tournament was followed by the 2019 Women's Twenty20 Cup and then by the 2019 Women's Cricket Super League, a professional tournament competed for by franchise teams. Katie Levick
Katie Ann Levick (born 17 July 1991) is an English cricketer who has played for Yorkshire, Yorkshire Diamonds, Northern Diamonds and Northern Superchargers. She is a leg spin bowler, and is the leading wicket taker in Women's County Championship cricket. Personal life Levick is from Sheffield. Levick studied at Sheffield Hallam University, graduating in 2012. She later worked as a teacher, and as of 2020, she was a marketing manager for Yorkshire CCC's coaching department. Career Levick played club cricket for Upper Haugh Cricket Club in Rotherham, alongside her brother. The club had no girls team, so she played on the boys team. At the age of 16, Levick debuted for Yorkshire Women. She has taken 190 wickets in the Women's County Championship, more than any other player.
