Yongsan International Business District
Yongsan Dreamhub (also known as the Yongsan International Business District) is a 28 – 31 trillion-won ($22.6 – $27 billion) project that was planned to be built on the banks of the Han River near Yongsan Station at the area of the Yongsan District, central Seoul, South Korea. Background The Yongsan District is a relatively large area of the megalopolis of Seoul that is seen as not significantly developed. It is a site of the American Yongsan Garrison which covers 16% of the district. The development proposal aimed to turn it into a modern sprawl of offices, malls, hotels and apartments, hoping to create a new signature district of Korea. History The project's main developers included the South Korean public transport company, Korail, which owns some underused land in Yongsan. Dream Tower
Dream Tower ( ko, 드림 타워) was a 665 m megatall skyscraper proposed for the new Yongsan International Business District, Seoul, South Korea. It would replace the original Triple One Tower. The Triple One Tower was supposed to be 620 meters. However, it has been renamed Dream tower (Korial Tower), and has been redesigned. With 150 stories, the building was going to be the centrepiece of the Yongsan Dreamhub, a 28-trillion-won ($22.6-billion) project to be built on the banks of the Han River near Yongsan Station. Demolition of the site started in 2010 and ground breaking was scheduled to start in 2011. As of 2013, the Yongsan Dreamhub plans have been cancelled. World Trade Center (1973–2001)
The original World Trade Center (WTC) was a large complex of seven buildings in the Financial District of Lower Manhattan in New York City. It opened on April 4, 1973, and was destroyed in 2001 during the September 11 attacks. At the time of their completion, the Twin Towers—the original 1 World Trade Center (the North Tower) at ; and 2 World Trade Center (the South Tower) at —were the tallest buildings in the world. The Digital Media City Landmark Building ( ko, 디지털 미디어 시티 랜드마크 빌딩) or DMC Landmark Building, also known as ''Seoul Lite'' or ''Light Tower'', was a 133-floor, supertall skyscraper proposed for construction in Digital Media City, Seoul, South Korea. It was slated to become the List of tallest buildings in the world, third-tallest building in the world when completed, after Burj Khalifa and Pingan International Finance Centre. It would have been the tallest building in Korea. Construction broke ground on 16 October 2009, and was scheduled to be completed and ready for occupancy by April 2015.
