Yolanda Rosa Monge Betancourt (born September 16, 1955), known professionally as Yolandita Monge, is a Puerto Rican singer, actress, and television personality. She has been active in the music business since her teen years and has recorded 27 studio albums and two live albums, as well as several greatest hits compilations and special appearance recordings. Biography Early life and family Monge was born in Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico on September 16, 1955, is the daughter of Iris Delia Betancourt and Héctor Monge. She lived the first seven years of her life in New York City and then came back to Puerto Rico. During the early 70s, she met Alfredo Lorenzo, in New York, and married him on November 13, 1975. They had a daughter, Noelia, but the marriage ended soon afterwards. In 1983, she married Venezuelan singer Balbino, whom she met in Buga, Colombia, and is the father of second daughter Paola González. A few years later, the couple filed for divorce. ''Mi Encuentro'' is the twenty-second (22nd) studio album by Puerto Rican singer Yolandita Monge released in 1997 and her last production for WEA-Latina. This album marked another radical change of sound for the singer, which included bomba and plena arrangements. The album contains two songs from Puerto Rican singer/songwriter Glenn Monroig, "Yo Solamente", and "Vete Ya", as well as others from known composers. Also, the singer recorded the previous hits "Cierra Los Ojos Y Juntos Recordemos" (From Floreciendo!) and "Ahora, Ahora" (From Laberinto de Amor) with these new arrangements. In the liner notes Monge express that it was her longtime desire to record songs with the sounds of her native land. This album earned Gold record status in Puerto Rico. ''Fiebre de Luna'' is the twentieth (20th) studio album by Puerto Rican singer Yolandita Monge. It was released in 1994 and includes the radio hits "A Pesar Del Tiempo", "Como Puedes", and "Dime Cuando". This album marked a change of image for the singer and a mature sound that included a bachata track, "Me Sorprendió La Luna". It marked the return to the heavy melodramatic lyrics of past albums, but with modern arrangements, leaving behind the early 1990s style of production from Pablo Manavello and Ricardo Montaner. This was the second time that Yolandita Monge recorded songs from Las Diego, after the track ''Contigo'' from '' Laberinto de Amor'' in 1987. ''Cara de Ángel'' is the eighteenth (18th) studio album by Puerto Rican singer Yolandita Monge. It was the singer's first studio album for WEA-Latina and was released in 1992. Once again Venezuelan singer/songwriter Ricardo Montaner was involved in the songwriting of some of the songs. It includes the radio hits "Sobreviviré", "Entrega Total", "Angel Caído" and the club hit "Viviré Sin Tí". The album's cover picture was taken by late photographer and stylist Raúl Torres and is a black and white picture, later color painted. The song "Viviré Sin Tí" was remixed by DJs Pablo Flores and Javier Garza, and became a club hit in Puerto Rico and USA. This song marked the third consecutive dance club hit for the singer. Monge filmed very stylish music videos for the tracks "Sobreviviré" and "'Viviré Sin Tí".
